I think it's also possible to be naive about Israel's motives and attitude in this terrible, ongoing oppression. Which is odd considering that they too have made it very clear what their ultimate goals are, i.e. to move the Palestinians out and take over Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Their words and their actions have made that very clear.

College protests became very popular during the Vietnam War era. In some ways, the protest did have an effect on the outcome. It did somehow force the war to end and the draft along with it.

As long as protests remain peaceful, I am OK with them, but the moment they turn ugly and cause damage, they need to be stopped. People being hurt or worse, property being destroyed is not a protest. They are crimes.

When local governments fail to protect the people they are responsible for, they need to be removed from office.

In some instances, the pro Palestinian protests are peaceful but the violence is coming out of the pro Israeli groups that show up and sometimes, directly from the police as was the case apparently in Calgary, Alberta.

It appears as though a majority of Israeli's are wanting Netanyahu to go. I seems like the attack on Rafah has brought this all to a head. IDK how the IDF will eliminate ALL of Hamas. They will just scatter again and regroup. It looks like this fight could go on for decades. I don't see an end in sight. Meanwhile trucks with aid are now trickling in and as they do, more bombing/killing in Rafah is taking place. What is going to happen next?

I think it's because of what has been called, 'learned helplessness'. Every day in the lives of Palestinians, there's a sense of dread and fear and helplessness, where they feel the same trauma that they've been experiencing for decades, will happen tomorrow and the day after that.... It's the same reason that keeps women who are being abused by their partner, from leaving them.

As for those resistance fighters that you speak of? Hamas.

It seems impossible for you people to comprehend the idea that anyone could possibly care about a whole population of people getting their homes destroyed and watching their families die for decades. What is the matter with all of you? Why are you so filled with hate that you can sit back and watch civilians and children suffer endlessly? And I'll respond to whatever posts I want. If you don't like it, tough! If you're going to display the hate in your heart, I'll comment on it. You have been really horrendous about some of your comments so maybe you're the one who needs to develop some self control.
