My new neighbor moved in. I went outside to water and saw someone in the window. I've been hearing a low level bass noise all night. I'm really hoping it's not the new neighbor.

Still very apprehensive about how the new neighbor will be in relation to the awful back neighbor.

I did get the watering down, so yay on that.

I am going shopping this afternoon. Sonny (BF) is taking me and I will help him with his shopping too. It is not really a good day to shop since the temperature will be in the eighties by that time. But I have to go when he can take me. Between racing and doctor appointments his time is scheduled well in advance. Tomorrow we both have eye appointments and will probably be hot then too. I need to get used to it.

Got a quick walk in, gloomy and damp from storms last night but clouds are breaking and it'll be a hot and humid one before long. Soon I'll buckle down for some paying work, all skullsweat and butt flattening. Might have to consider that "standing desk" concept some day. Or a new cushion. I'll settle for getting up and out here and there for string trimming breaks and the like.

On my early walk at 6:30,it was 73 as I went to buy today's NYT
This morning walking to the bank to deposit my IRS refund ck
Later this morning, I'm having lunch with my niece/god daughter,Katie&hubbyZach, will meet their 3 month old son, Xavier. They are staying at Zach's parents house in Williamsville,NY{Buffalo suburb} I haven't seen them since last May, it will be the highlight of my day

Hubby has gone to 'play' with logs.

I'm looking out window,,,,,, haven't even taken Mac for a potty walk.

Did get one plant & its accent flowers planted.
I need to find some sand to mix with the potting soil.

Thought I had a decorative pot to plant the next one in,, haven't found it.. ??

During yesterday's first walk of the day,, a ground nesting bird flew past Mac.
He was on it trying to kill it.
Had to pull him away from it.
Later checked to see if it died,, couldn't find it.

@ Holly,, sounds like your 2 b x,,needs a few hard blows on his wallet & on himself. ;)

Did assorted jobs around the house this morning instead of walking. Worked in the yard a little and got covered with grass clippings (as usual). It's always a mess working out there. I tracked it into the house and now will go vacuum it up. Going to be very hot today. My mom has an aide coming this morning and I'm delighted about that. Gives me a break and I'm thrilled to putter a bit around the kitchen. Hope everyone has a nice day.

It's a beautiful morning - this is a very comfortable time of year in So Cal. Summer heat usually arrives in July and hangs around until early October, so I'm enjoying springtime while it's here.

UPS dawdled yesterday. By the time they delivered my 6 cartons it was past 4 pm so I'll run my errands this morning instead. No biggie.

It's a lovely day in the neighborhood, and I have fun things to do in the garden. Today could be the day the a/c gets turned on. It's already pretty hot.

I'mthisclose to throwing in the towel at work. More and more work expected in the same amount of time. What?

Yesterday, Cookie was scheduled from 4pm-8pm. Apparently she didn't feel like working. She said the oven "didn't work" and went home. There's a thingie in the oven like a rotisserie except that it's vertical rather than horizontal so that when a rack is loaded onto it, it revolves, turning the rack to heat the trays evenly.

Cookie said that it "wouldn't stop spinning." So she went home. Didn't call for a manager, didn't call for any help whatsoever. She just went home. She went home without making a report of a malfunction and didn't tell anybody that she was leaving. She. Just. Left. That's a big no-no. We have to tell someone in authority if we're leaving before our shifts end for any reason. Will there be any repercussions for her? No. Her g'mother is our "HR" lady. No one will say a word about it.

When she was contacted about not being there, she said the oven didn't work so she went home.

Now...if it really hadn't been working, I'd have gone in this morning unable to do anything without the use of the oven because no report had been made. When I go in, the first thing I do is turn the oven on. Fine. About an hour later, the deli manager came over and asked if I was "still" having trouble with the oven. Still? Um. No, why? So then I got the story about how it "didn't work."

What? It used to be called "problem solving." Now it's called "critical thinking." Whatever it's called, it sure looks like Cookie has a serious deficit in that area.

So...I go in this morning, nothing was set up for today, and it all had to be started from scratch. Oy! And there were no cookies. Nope. No cookies. Our biggest sellers by far and away are chocolate chip cookies and croissants. I had plenty of work to do so didn't have time to make cookies. And guess what? A customer asked for three dozen choc chip cookies for a graduation party tonight. There weren't any.

Either vacay or just up and quit. One or the other. They'll get onto me for the most minor of "infractions" even though I work like a whirling dervish and rarely have time to take a break or even pee. But mark my words, nothing at all will be said to Cookie about the oven that "didn't work."

@hollydolly, good luck dealing with all this paperwork. Will you have to try to sort through all of his now and see if you see he’s hiding or undervaluing what he has. What a jerk after 20 years together.
Right so I have a time for the exchange tomorrow..now.. his lawyer said the delay was caused for them having to wait for his confirmation on something.. I know exactly what he would have been doing. he will be furious that he's having to let me see his finances,.. he's furious at the best of times when it comes to any officialdom, but knowing that I'm going to have to see them, he'll be doing his best to hide as much as he can.. ..like I don't already know most of it already.. and have the proof right here..

he's turned this all into unnecessary nastiness to the person you've been married to for 23 years... it's hard to even think that when we were living together as a couple , that I could possibly have imagined he would do any of this to me.. if I had, had even an inkling.. I wouldn't have taken care of him as well as I did for all those years.. ... .. it makes me absolutely sick to my stomach!

Anyway some of this is just so stressful. My lawyer just told me that, the emails with the documents uploaded have to be exchanged simultaneously.. and if mine goes at the precise times, and their doesn't arrive immediately..I have then got to call his Lawyers, and expressly Forbid them to View my documents, and demand theirs are sent instantly.. or else.. ... God, almighty.. I'm just beginning to get really overwhelmed by all this...terrified I'm going to make a mistake, that will cost me dearly...

Now my lawyer has said I can now upload all my documents to my portal... in readiness for tomorrow.. but because the files are so big.. apparently I have to use Wetransfer, so goodness knows if I'll do that properly. I'll probably end up not sending them, or sending 10 times by mistake...

Folks.. please when this all over don't remind me of it.... 😣

I had to give it up for today because it's just too dang hot out there. There are still zinnias and other things to plant, but I just can't do it. Maybe tomorrow. The daffodils did get cut back and moved to a better spot, and the huge garden phlox got planted. Boy oh boy! It is positively gorgeous!

@hollydolly I thought the exchange was going to happen today. Drat. Like you, we all just want it over with and the weight of the world off your shoulders. Still wishing warts and ugly toenail fungus on S2BX.

Tomorrow afternoon one of the eye docs is going to repair the hole in my retina. Oy. The last one, four years ago, had a follow up four months later. Four months. Does this mean that I'll still be waiting for the cataract surgery four months down the road? I certainly hope not. Fiddlesticks.

Maggiecat usually greets me as soon as I get home from work (and she gets kitty cookies from me) but yesterday and today I didn't see hide nor hair of her until after 1pm. When she finally appeared yesterday, it was to purr and stare at me and paw at my arm...meaning she wanted to be fed. Um. Nope. She gets fed 12 hours after she has breakfast. That puts us at 2:30pm. Today she's doing the same thing. Who's training whom? LOL I'm sticking to my guns. She'll get fed in another hour. So there. She's almost as much trouble as a little kid!

Maybe they can do one cataract in a week or so after your retinal repairs happens. There aren’t enough opthamologists; they’re overloaded, especially will all the seniors.

That four-month follow-up was to make sure that the retinal repair "took" and that there would be no further complications. So if I had to wait four months for the last one, won't I have to wait four months for this one? The surgeon won't do the cataract surgery without a go-ahead from the doc who does the retinal repair. Sigh.

I think I'm just going to have to take some unpaid time soon off because I need it, and when the cataract surgery is done, I'll have to take more time off. It's a darn good thing that I simply like payday and don't need it to survive!
