All the girls in my high school were called to a special assembly where a woman gave us a lesson on "good grooming" and make-up in which Ten-0-Six figured heavily as a cleanser, pore reducer, acne cure, and dry skin moisturizer. I remember it left a sticky film on your face and that I once mixed it up with the Listerine bottle and took a swig.

Pants stretchers were a must in the '50s and early '60s. Then perma press hit the stores and the stretchers were history. I still would use them for my jeans if I had a set.

Oh, when "perma press" first came out I bought a couple of slacks from Sears. After the first wash they stunk. I brought them back and they at first wouldn't take them. Then I had the guy smell them. I got a refund.
