How Many Septuagenarians & Octogenarians On SF?

It would be interesting to know because I think we are of a different mind set than the 50's & 60's seniors. It would also be interesting to know who our oldest active member is and then honor that member for their longevity and participation.

I am in the Octogenarian Group.

"I think we are of a different mind set than the 50's & 60's seniors"

Beyond any shadow of a doubt! imp

I could very well be the eldest; I turned 91 in April, but I feel and (hope) I act more like a 50 year old. Sometimes like a 5 year old.
No aches or pains, no walking aids, NO MEDS or supplements. I go to my club several nights/ week to carouse with my friends (men & women)

Septuagenarian here. I'm not a baby boomer. I'm a war baby.
I do think I have a different mind set from those born ten years later.
For one thing, TV didn't come to Australia until 1957 so we listened to the radio plays and serials a lot.
We went to the movies weekly and occasionally saw live performances.
I was just eleven when I saw my first Shakespeare play and had been taken to pantomimes from an early age.
These did not take place in our homes, but in theatres with hundreds of other people.
We were part of a mob, a crowd, a community.

Oct. 2nd will find me a 79 year old guy. Cute (fact), smart (some attach ass to that description), sexy (only in my mind), and animal lover (also fact).

Feeling good about one's self is an important part of well-being in general. Just MHO, Jim. imp

I had to google "people in their 60s" and they're sexagenarians…that's what I am. Didn't know we had a name but it kinda has a nice ring to it :shussh:

A long time member, Nona (ndynt) has not been active on the forum recently. I believe the reason is that she's busy utilizing her talents as an artist to make a living. She is an Octogenarian.
LOL...even Nona wouldn't describe herself as a long time member of this forum I'm sure Josiah...only been with us since March of this year. Incidentally she's gone to a wedding in Central Florida.. :D

Lara, I just turned 60, 8 weeks ago...sexagenarian huh?....I'll take that... :D

btw baby boomers are people born between 1946 and 1964. A person 70 or 71 is still a baby boomer.

I don't see people who have been members for less than a year as long-time members.

My body is 73 but my mind is stuck in my 30s or maybe 40s,
so I don't what 'genarian I am.

Mike.
