I've never seen one in flower! How pretty the plant is.
Thanks, Deb.

Once you see the very first sign of a yellow flower, that's when you know it's time to cut your broccoli. Broccoli is a cool-weather plant, so if the temperatures are climbing, be sure to check your plant every day for those hints of flowering. Once flowers start appearing, the flavor decreases
The key words. If you had a vegetable garden you could save a fortune on vegetables. They are really I lot of fun but also a lot of work.
Putting stuff in 5 gallon buckets isnāt really a lot of work. Just drill holes in the bottom , add a layer of gravel then fill up with potting soil. The key words.
Wow! I'm so glad you're posting the progress!
I sure do.
Anyone else remember this?
There was this HUGE piece of broccoli. After I cut the florets off, it seemed too large a chunk to just throw out. Always experimenting with things, I stuck the stump in water to see what would happen. In a week, it had sprouted roots, so I put it in a pot. Now it's getting leaves.

No offense, but no, not cute. It looks kind of disgusting. I know, they're great....but butt ugly.It works with Brussels sprouts, too. It took a lot longer, though. The broccoli sprouted roots in a few days. These BS have been soaking for at least 2 weeks. Aren't those the cutest little sprouts?

What did you name this deserving and robust plant?I finally had to chuck the Brussels sprouts. Maybe it was the exceptionally hot weather, but they eventually disintegrated (to put it delicately). The broccoli is still around, but going to seed.
