Broccoli I started from a stem

If you had a vegetable garden you could save a fortune on vegetables. I’m surprised you don’t have one. They are really I lot of fun but also a lot of work. We are growing all our stuff in 5 gallon buckets until our garden is ready.

The key words.
Putting stuff in 5 gallon buckets isn’t really a lot of work. Just drill holes in the bottom , add a layer of gravel then fill up with potting soil.
Then you buy tomato and red pepper plants and plant one in each. By the end of the season you have loads of tomatoes and peppers. I think you’d enjoy it. It’s fun watching them grow. Extra tomatoes can be canned or just put straight into the freezer.
A garden is mega work. Two or 3 containers is barely work at all once you plant them. Plus you WOULD SAVE quite a bit of money. You could even plant that broccoli
Once you cut the top off.

There was this HUGE piece of broccoli. After I cut the florets off, it seemed too large a chunk to just throw out. Always experimenting with things, I stuck the stump in water to see what would happen. In a week, it had sprouted roots, so I put it in a pot. Now it's getting leaves.

Your thumbs must be about the same color as the broccoli.
