Can you believe this..I really don't know why I'm surprised. I just called my Doctors' surgery ( office ) to arrange a letter of confirmation of my medical conditions. Numero Uno is the OA of which the most recent intervention was the double steroid injections in my knees...but there are other issues as well...one of which I'm awaiting surgery this year...
It took me 2 days of calling to finally get through to the surgery, so I finally got through and the receptionist said there is No history of the osteoarthritis in my records... not even that I'd had the steroid injections as recently as December..
....so, normally with my Doctors'surgery and most in the UK now, unless your case is urgent you have to wait about 3 weeks for an appointment...
... or if if you do get it sooner you get the runt doctor with the bedside manner of a spud.. but this receptionist has got me an appointment for this coming Friday with te best Doctor in the practice..so that fabulous news.. but how can they not have any record of my OA..when in fact as well as the cortisone injections.. I have had physiotherapy..much of it private , but I've always informed my NHS doctor... for about 12 years now.. ..and it was the NHS doctor who was instrumental in ordering those steroid injections..at the hospital.. yet it's never been added to my patient records..
I really, really hate what this NHS has become...
As it has happened as sometimes these thing co-incidentally do..I had a call from my optician this morning.. telling me I needed a new eye test..so they've booked that for Friday as well.. so I have to be in one town mid-morning .. then 2 towns away for the eyes at 11.45am
..and tomorrow I have to be at the physio at 1pm......so I go months without seeing anyone remotely medical , and then get all in one week..
