Hi all! Update - 12 year old DGS is FINALLY feeling better. Hallelujah!!! 2-1/2 weeks and 4 different courses of antibiotics later. The 3 days in a row of injections did the trick on that stubborn double ear infection.
Oh my gosh, that sure did take a lot, to get him cleared up!
Whew!!! I was thinking of him, and this morning, was planning to ask you, the very next time I got on here, so I'm very glad to see your update post on him!

Been up since 1:15 am. Took a Xanax, but couldn't relax to go back to sleep. The skin on my right elbow burning, I think from excessive cat licking on my tender skin. Poured hydrogen peroxide on it and whole area burned like infected. After all, cats lick their butts then they try to lick it off on us. Area swollen too, skin slightly broken. I know it was Gidget 🐈‍⬛ . She & Louie 🐈think I'm their mommy and sometimes their love is slightly aggressive. Never had this problem with other cats. Anyway, only a couple of hours sleep and up for 3 hours and will stay up for rest of day but will probably be stumbling around. Yoga on PBS soon, will do some.

It's so dry here that when I try to water what's left of the lawn, the water just runs off. Geez. It can't even soak in, and the river birch tree started dropping leaves again. I was hoping that if the ground got really, really watered, it would help the tree. Not so far...

GG, I put on a jacket inside the house,,its cool in here too!

Looking ahead for our week's forecast , 80* will be back with us plus 80 & rain near end of the week.

I'll take the rain ,we have one large blueberry bush that have tiny green fruit, not plump yet.

Even thou we put net around the bushes,, birds still get in.
This morning Mac chased them around till they managed to get out.

When Mac & I started our walk , I saw a woodchuck,, he didn't.
I'm don't carry a firearm with me , would need 2 of us to finish any fight Mac would get into with a woodchuck.

Happy Monday!

Had a lovely weekend - TGS (toddler grandson) was here early Sat AM through late afternoon Sun. ❤️

Highs will be into the 90s this week and next. Such is summer in much of So Cal. In my area, mornings are 65°-ish, so our 89° pool is delicious for 7:30 AM swims. Once the rainy season ends, we cover the pool whenever we're not in it - keeping it clean and warm, and holding evaporation to a minumum.

Our tomatoes are ripening with some ready to pick, mint and basil plants are lush and full, roses are blooming, and our orange tree abounds with tiny green balls, boding well for a bumper crop of fruit next winter. Yes indeedy, Summer 2024 has arrived.

My son's friend (BD) who's also a DJ and producer is up from North Carolina and wanted to come by to do some studio work. My son had errands this morning and we weren't sure what time BD was coming. When my son got home, we got busy making the place more presentable. I straightened up in the living room, swept and wet Swiffered the bathroom floor as well as dry Swiffered the living room and hallway. It's amazing how easily and efficiently we can clean (what needed to be cleaned) and spruce up when company is coming. Preparing to go on vacation is another motivator for me.

My son took BD to Newark, N.J. just so he could experience the whaler sandwich from a fish truck my son loves to patronize. BD really appreciated it because he said they don't have food places like that where he lives. He said he can't even get a decent pizza! So I told him an easy way to make a very good one at home. While they were eating, we had a nice conversation about music, the problems he had at his old job (which eventually closed down), why he moved to N.C. (10 years ago) and retirement. That young man is looking forward to it in five years and has a really good plan. I love that.

I let him hear the song I composed completely using GarageBand and he really liked it. I love to get opinions from the younger generation as well as from Boomers. Getting the thumbs up from another producer is even better. I'm glad he and my son got to spend time together because they've been good friends and have worked on music projects together periodically for over 25 years. I also ran the dishwasher, relaxed, watched TV, played my games and had a brief conversation with my granddaughter. Didn't do much napping. Maybe now I'll get a good sleep instead of being up in the middle of the night.

It's 4.20 am... I'm wondering if I can stay awake until 6am when the supermarkets open... . I'm out of grapes & bananas.. and that's what I eat in the mornings for brunch.. haven't had any today.(yesterday)...also almost completely out of cold drinks.. except for one bottle of s/berry and Banana juice..

If I go, I'll do the fresh food shopping for the rest of the week.. I go away for 5 days next week.. so I won't buy too much...

The only thing is I;d have to get all dressed, and drive a 16 mile round trip and I'm not sure I can be bothered...tbh

I am so not a morning person but if I was to be awake at 4:20am, I would probably try to stay up long enough to get the grocery shopping done while the roads aren't congested and the stores are empty.
