Early this morning, I did some financial stuff. I finally fell asleep about 5:30 a.m. and didn't wake up until 11:30. I was expecting a package to be delivered by FedEx. The text I got and from tracking on their site showed that I should have gotten it by 12 p.m. That did not happen. I held off making business calls and doing other stuff that I would do while listening to music to make sure I didn't miss the delivery.

Sometimes our bells work, sometimes not so if not, drivers will knock on the outer window on the opposite side from my apartment). The package didn't come until after 6 p.m. A neighbor knocked on our door to let us know there was a deliveryman with my package outside. My son heard her knocking. I did't because I was in the kitchen, playing music (not too loudly) and running the water.

The eyedrops that were delivered get packaged in cooler packs that actually contain liquid plant food. I always give them to my neighbor-friend. We chatted briefly when she came down to get them and I showed her two pictures of the dirt I got from the rim of the washers downstairs. She was shocked. The one I use all the time, thus clean whenever I'm down there had a lot less dirt on the wipe than the one I used on the other machine. She said she's always just sprayed disinfectant but she'll be wiping from now on.

I also did some little things here and there...not big projects but necessary to keep the house running efficiently. And the usual.

So far, @hollydolly's "extended lunch" is my fave, except that I work from 4am to 8am so no lunch, not even a break because I work fewer than five hours.

It's a bite-my-tongue day. Don't wanna give myself away on the same day as next week's schedule is carved in stone in the computer. It's important to make my departure as inconvenient as possible :ROFLMAO:

It's gonna be hot today. Bet y'all are surprised.

At one point the low trimmer got a branch stuck in it's teeth, and for the life of me I couldn't get it out with pliers, so I took a screwdriver, and hammered it , and at one point I missed the head of the driver, and hammered my arthritic knuckles.. :sick:😩..

..anyway I got it fixed, and then got up on the ladders to finish off the tops of the 7 feet hedge , and the battery ran out. Just waiting now for it to recharge. I've done everything else, mowed and swept up.. just that one little bit of hedge to do..I've put all the tools away now except for the hedge trimmer ... very humid.. not much sun now ...

Came back in to find another email from Amazon ..this is now 7 about the same topic .. this time they've chosen an item from that same order.. but not the SPF that I complained about .. and they say that they cannot find any visible damage to the charging bank in your photo... I never took a photo of a charging bank.. much less send it to them complaining about it being defective. Then they have the nerve to ask me to rate them in Stars....

Whatever is happening to Amazon now, they used to be so efficient.

Give them a bad review. That is what I do when they refuse to refund. I just bought something I did not want because it was all cheap plastic. I requested a refund and was sure to say it would not work because that is the only way Amazon will pay for the shipping back. After seeing your post, I am going to always check the refund policy on anything I buy..........anywhere.

I did Kat..... I rarely ever leave bad reviews but this one left a bad taste....
 
Today Sonny is picking me up to go do my monthly errands. He said he was coming early because he has his cardio rehab this afternoon. So I should be done by the time it gets super hot. I cannot stand to be out in the hot afternoon temperatures.

Today my apartment neighbors are having a outdoor cookout and potluck for the 4th. I am not going. Depending on how hot it is I might stop and talk with them a bit but not eating with them or staying out there for long.

Wow, I worked last night dusting and vacuuming every corner. The air cleaner was on all night and no one slept in there.
However, it was worth it. The shower looks fabulous!
The original doesn't look too bad because it had been cleaned and prepped well for when DH was going to regrout. The new one looks so big because it goes to the ceiling and does come out a bit more. It looks bigger and now the bathroom looks smaller!
 
Howdy all folks!!! WOw, I'm here and the power is on and everything is working like it should....good start to the day,
last nite the storms got crazy, lost power at 830pm, then came back on, then lost again, then came back on, you know, that eve
when you don't know what the hell to do...like when the power came back abt 1am I was trying to reset the emergency button
base unit, had laid down my flashlite somewhere, power went out again, I'm standing in complete darkness, wondering wher my cane and flashlite is !!!! Finally full return to lights about
4am or so...just now got my wireless thingy rebooted so I can
be here to bug you all.....LOL....hand is feeling some better
after that injection yesterday.....Sun is shining, not as hot today tho, it sure got hot in here during that outage....whatever plans I have today will be spur of the moment, cause my old
plans went out with the elect and haven't come back into my brain yet !!!!!! :coffee::coffee::love::LOL:
 
Off tomorrow, then only two more days. Yay. I think the exit line is going to be so simple that they'll think it's a joke and won't realize it isn't until Sunday morning when there's nobody there to open the bakery.

Me: I'm going to retire.
Sir: When?
Me: Today. Sound good?
Sir: (laughing) Sure.
Me: Okay. Bye.

Today, anything that I will do outside, is already done for the day. I will go out in the evening to water and walk. Other than that, I'm in for the day!!! There is plenty for me to do, read, watch a show, sew, etc. I'm still worn out from yesterday.....

@hawkdon I don't know what your temperatures are to be today, but I know that you live close enough to me that they might be extreme. Be careful in that heat!

@Trila About the heat. I have (had) an enormous pot of zinnias in varying colors. It got watered every day, sometimes twice a day, and it was beautiful as recently as suppertime yesterday. When I got home from work this morning at 8, all the blooms were withered up and dead. I'm hoping it will revive and after being deadheaded will bloom again:(🥀
 
Already we have been to town and picked up our car that was worked on, went shopping for about 4 bags of groceries a n d

I had a long talk with a friend who had a child with a former monk from our monastery. The child is adult now and has left home. He has decided to leave her now, and go his own way. She is adjusting as good as could be expected. She has already found an apartment, now after almost 20 years she is with no one...again...naturally. :)
 
Not long back from my jaunt today. It's 4.30pm now and it rained on and off all day... everyone I spoke to were shaking their heads and exclaiming '' you wouldn't believe this was July ''...

I managed to get my nails done while I was out which was fabulous, I didn't think I'd be able to until the end of the week...

I got a hearing test today... apparently my hearing is perfect. Nice to know one part of me works well, lol

Got some of the groceries at M&S .. then went to Tesco to get the meat and there was none.. all the fridges had broken down.. there wasn't any meat available out of 2 aisles of meat fridges ....so I bought fish instead..


Last week I bought some compression ankle socks from Ebay... because I'll be walking a lot when I go away... and when I tried them, they were rubbish... all the inner threads were loose and they had little compression ..so I wrote a negative review for the socks explainng why, and leaving a positive review for the seller.

Just now my phone rang and the seller wants me to remove the feedback if he refunds my money.. I didn't ask for a refund because they were cheap, ... which is why I left the good fb for the seller because the items were posted fast...but I still think they should have been fit for purpose hence the neg fb for the items

...however I understand as a trader they don't want negative FB.. but many other people will be caught out who maybe can't afford to lose their money on inferior items ..so I said no...

what do you think ? What would ny of you have said?

You did the honourable thing. If he’s selling junk, he deserves a bad review for that product.
