Not long back from my jaunt today. It's 4.30pm now and it rained on and off all day... everyone I spoke to were shaking their heads and exclaiming '' you wouldn't believe this was July ''...

I managed to get my nails done while I was out which was fabulous, I didn't think I'd be able to until the end of the week...

I got a hearing test today... apparently my hearing is perfect. Nice to know one part of me works well, lol

Got some of the groceries at M&S .. then went to Tesco to get the meat and there was none.. all the fridges had broken down.. there wasn't any meat available out of 2 aisles of meat fridges ....so I bought fish instead..

Last week I bought some compression ankle socks from Ebay... because I'll be walking a lot when I go away... and when I tried them, they were rubbish... all the inner threads were loose and they had little compression ..so I wrote a negative review for the socks explainng why, and leaving a positive review for the seller.

Just now my phone rang and the seller wants me to remove the feedback if he refunds my money.. I didn't ask for a refund because they were cheap, ... which is why I left the good fb for the seller because the items were posted fast...but I still think they should have been fit for purpose hence the neg fb for the items

...however I understand as a trader they don't want negative FB.. but many other people will be caught out who maybe can't afford to lose their money on inferior items ..so I said no...

what do you think ? What would ny of you have said?
@hollydolly
I would have done, exactly what you did. A negative review for an inferior product. The seller might want to consider withdrawing this item for sale. It's what I would do. I think it was unfair of the seller to ask you to remove your feedback.

You did the honourable thing. If he’s selling junk, he deserves a bad review for that product.

Him calling you directly - that shocks me!
Yes it did me as well.. and he addressed me by my first name.... not by my Ebay handle...

The thing is when I answered the phone the voice said.. ''is that Holly''?.. so I immediately presumed it was someone I knew or who knew me.. so I was stunned when he said who he was...

Been having lots of trouble getting more test strips! Doctor's office kept screwing up prescription. It's ready after 10 long days of nonsense & stress. Got a call finally ready. Will go in to CVS after their lunch time, 2pm to get them then walk Suicide Hill four times to calm my nerves! Will read my book in park, go home, get stoned.

Oh. I'm 75 now. I had another birthday.

My wife is still working full-time; so, I am getting her garden in shape. She was too ambitious but didn't have the time to keep it tidy.
Because of the heat, I can work outside only between 6-10 am, and after 6 pm till it gets dark. Being at home on vacation, my older
daughter is helping me.

How about 4th of July? The greater Los Angeles area (also called Southland that is different from Southern California) comprises of
5 counties (Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino) with 18.4 million people and has different climate zones.

Pleasant at the beaches (and even in the mountains at 8,000 ft. ) .......Downtown Los Angeles is generally all right

A little bit hot in the Inland Empire where I am living ..............................Unpleasant in the High or Mojave Desert at about 3,000 to 4,000ft.

Mojave Desert I-15 Freeway has an exit "Zzyzx Road" between Baker and Las Vegas that supposedly is the sound of a person dying of thirst.

Although mild in winter, the low desert = Coachella Valley (Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Indio, Mecca, etc.) is unbearable in summer.
This is the only place in the U.S. where dates are grown commercially. We visit this area during the winter months.

@Trila About the heat. I have (had) an enormous pot of zinnias in varying colors. It got watered every day, sometimes twice a day, and it was beautiful as recently as suppertime yesterday. When I got home from work this morning at 8, all the blooms were withered up and dead. I'm hoping it will revive and after being deadheaded will bloom again:(🥀
I hope so. My zinnias are also in a pot (well, actually a bucket) too. It seems like they take more water than any of the other flowers.

It is and I wouldn't except that he knows her name and address..
I'm not sure what I'd do. Maybe report him her.
ye, but this is my quandary...if I report him... he knows my name and address , goodness knows what he could do with that.

he's gone to great lengths to get my name and phone number and attempt to get me to remove the feedback... this is over a a £3 item... goodness knows what else he's capable of...

Record heat last 2 days here in the SFBA. Just returned from 3 days backpacking near Tahoe at 8K+. Each morning at sunrise, temperature was about 40F with highs rising to maybe 75F.

When I got home last night, my residence was 83F downstairs and 87F upstairs with outdoors over 100F. Have not had AC for 2+ decades. I own a hospital water bed mattress I filled with cool water as our ground water temperatures are a pleasant 65F out of the tap. Thus filled that from kitchen sink and slept nicely. Then at dawn outdoor dropped to 71F. So opened windows doors that brought indoors down to 75F.

Tomorrow, July 4th, more temps near 100F so after sunrise will drive 57 miles north to cool marine air San Francisco where temp will only rise to about 75F where I'll spend whole day along north shore tourist area where festivities are scheduled including a big 9pm fireworks show.

~I balanced my checkbooks
~Talked with an agent at Adapt Health (again) about a bill I received that I shouldn't have. This is wasting my time and energy! At least she was pleasant and somewhat helpful. I'm going to have to contact Aetna though due to instructions to do so when getting billed erroneously by any entity. I had posted before that another agent couldn't even find evidence of me being billed last time I called.

~Cleaned up my kitchen
~Talked with my BFF and granddaughter
~Did music for a little more than an hour. I practiced melody parts to prepare for revising some old songs, adding to new songs and listened to original versions of those I've released already.

Up and out for a nice breakfast at one of our favourite local cafes. Then on to do our duty and vote! Now chilling with a coffee and a piece of fruit loaf in another local cafe waiting for the weather to clear enough for a session with the big lens at the local nature reserve.

Looking forward to telephone conversation with my BFF in FL around 10:30 am. Had to schedule this, keep missing each other. Then, IDK. Got up very early again, but managed to get at least five hours of sleep. Wish I had more energy, I think I'd sleep better if I did, but I also need sleep for energy so I'm all messed up.

Hope I can stay awake to watch Macy's Fireworks. If not, I'll miss it for the first time except when I was in Europe

Yeah, that's why I might placate him in this instance and hope he goes away. I'd rather be safe than right.
