What have you bought recently?

Not something I wanted to buy, but time moves on.
Lost another heating element on our water heater, (electric, there are two, upper and lower).
It's served it's time, so got a new one.
I'll be plumbing it in this weekend.

Will be putting in a new expansion tank and adding a Watts recirculating pump to the system so the back
bathroom has instant hot water to the faucets and shower. No more waiting for the hot water to arrive.
We've talked about doing this for a while and figured now is the time.

Replacing some old piping, so out comes the torch and I get to do some soldering.
(now that I've put everyone to sleep with my post, I'll just move on)
Sounds like you are going to have a busy weekend! I am exhausted just reading about it :) ;)

We are having our house prepared, ready for sale. It's been redecorated throughout, the exterior is almost finished. The roof tiles have been steam cleaned and the rear patio and garden path have also had the steamer on them. The driveway at the front will have a new layer of tarmac and then we will see what interest it creates. Just don't ask how much we have spent, hopefully we can recoup the cost in the asking price.

A large pill container to keep supplements and vitamins so I don't have to refill so often.
A charcoal grey "boyfriend" sweater to replace a worn out one. Fall clothing is starting to come in.
A spoon rest for my olive oil brush.
Some bone supplements for my osteoporosis.

It looks very nice!

...and 3 new garden troughs...

L'Oreal Paris Makeup True Match Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Enhancer Lotion. Whew, that's a mouthful! It's otherwise known as "hope in a jar."

We'll see if it gives my skin a beautiful, luminescent glow.
Let me know! I was going to buy some but put it back. Unsure.

See, I am such a marketing sucker, I would buy that extension lead just because of the colour! I am going to stop looking before I order one and it ends up in the cupboard with the other ones I don't need :)
Whereas I needed a new extension lead for the office room and I searched for one which will match in with the green and white theme in here...:D

It looks very nice!
Thank you. In the first photo you can just make out the red porch tiles.

The porch has had a facelift. Grey against white is not a colour that I would have thought of, but.........

Next up will be the tarmac. The company that will do the work will lay down a couple of test samples to see which colour best suits the house.

After that the perimeter fence needs decorating and then there's the garden to tidy up.

I love the leaded windows... ..how far from your current location are you moving ?

I had a coupon for a $9.99 haircut at the salon where my cutter works. It's usually $16 for old folks, and I give her $20. Since I always give her $20, I did today, too. She got a 100% tip (and she's worth every penny of it).

That's all I spent today.

Just to show y'all how serious I am about being on a money diet, I paused my Amazon Prime account. Yup. Sure did.

We don't plan to move far. The stairs are becoming a challenge for the lady, and, the size of our current home means that house cleaning, which we do daily, can take two or three hours, and that's with both of us cleaning and dusting.

At present we live on a bus route with a daily service that can take us to most of the major conurbations in the area. As we age that bus service might prove invaluable. A two or three bedroom bungalow with a decent size garden would be ideal. Problem is, there's many a baby-boomer in the area, such properties fetch premium prices and although our's will be priced similarly, there won't be much left over to top up savings or pension.

Same is happening here, HC.

By the time we paid realtor and other fees, we'd be almost even despite reducing from 2500 SF with an in-ground pool to 1800 SF with no pool. Our current house is all on one floor though, so downsizing isn't pressing. And Friday night we had two grandkids plus a grand niece here for overnights, so the extra BRs came in handy.
