LOL!!! That didn't go in my eyes right, and what I read was "professional candy stripper." :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I don't think our dollar store would be a danger zone because of the neighborhood. And I'd only want to work the early hours. They open at 8 so probably a shift from about 7 to 11 or 12. Nah...that doesn't worry me. Doubt that somebody wanting to burgle the place would be in that early because there wouldn't be enough money in the till yet.

I don't think I'd much like working in a senior living/assisted living place. Maybe. Guess it's worth checking into.
Our Dollar Tree is pretty nice. The one downtown next to "Murder-Mart" is the one I avoid.
We also have a nice consignment shop down the road. I've often thought that if I was going to get a retirement job I wouldn't mind working there putting out and tending stock.
Not at the register! I was in customer service for thirty something years. I don't want to please people, handle money, or have to groom. 😁 Just put me in the back and I will organize all the stuff people want to sell.
I notice they hire a lot and of sixties and seventies years old women. Probably would hire eighties.

Mmm, coffee. Wondering where I'll start this morning.

Why am I up so early? I must be done sleeping.

There's no rain in our forecast for the next few days, but there will probably be a couple of those pop-up showers here and there. By tomorrow the lawn should have dried out enough to mow. Again. Yeah, I just mowed Saturday. Fertilizer + rain = jungle!

@hearlady Yeah...just lemme organize stuff. I looked at the Dollar Tree website. It doesn't show any part-time sales associate jobs at the one closest to me. The ones a little farther away aren't in neighborhoods where I'd want to work. Drat.

Morning gang....it is 79deg F out there, heat index 84f...wowza....
Had a weird sleeping nite, up several times thinking it was time to get up, but it wasnt' some weird dreams also...ah well, here I
am...another terribly hot day in store, no rain, may order a bit
of groceries today...and want to check game cam to see if I got any fox pics last nite...catch up more later !!;);):coffee::giggle:

Glorious hot day today. I've made a good start on de-cluttering my shed... very hot, so I came in half way through. really need to get some stuff gathered to take to the recycle centre. It's all good stuff, just no use for me, now. They have a shop at the recycle centre so I can drop things off there..''Too good to waste'' corner... but first I have to get the stuff out , and all into the car, and despite it being super hot and sunny today, the forecast is a Red warning for torrential rain tomorrow for 24 hours...
As well as my wooden garden chairs and table I have a couple of Adirondack chairs...like this..

plastic-adirondack-chairs-r-qingwa-41dg-64_600.jpg

.and somehow I got some splashes of the fence paint on the arms... and I just cant get it off. I've tried white spirit, nail polish remover.. nothings moving it...

Some years ago I had a scare with skin cancer on my leg and it was burned away.... now it seems to be back.:(
I called the surgery ( doctors office).. and they've given me an appointment for Monday...... then I had to call the dentist and make an appointment there. I should have had some follow up treatment back in March. and I left it.. now the tooth is bothering me, so dentist next week... as well...

Anyway..it's a glorious day.... I'm just having a cuppa tea... and then I'll be back out in the garden getting the rest of the shed tidied...

You should go in to Dollar Tree in person. Talk to an employee that's older and tell her what you're looking for. I've gotten jobs that way. They see you're not an idiot, reliable, etc. and they tell their boss. Current employees and bosses want good people. They can't find them on the internet.

On my early walk at 6:40,temp was already 75 a bit humid as I walked twice a around the complex
The forecast calls for some rain by mid morning,so far the local 'weather'experts' have been wrong when the rain arrives,I'll believe it when I see it
I've invited to lunch today, our former senior pastor,Tom&his wife Carol, look forward to seeing them. Tom retired from our church in 2022 after serving for 23 yrs. We've had a friendship from day one, over the yrs I was invited to their house for meals other family get togethers, attended their eldest son, Ian's wedding in 2010,stayed in touch This will be the highlight of my day

There was some rain in our area from late afternoon and to varying degrees overnight. We didn't have either a proper or improvised rain gauge out, so at 6:33am I'm not sure how much fell. But it was defnitely welcome as a factor to curb the wildfires. It should help to make the efforts of the fire crews more effective.

Our outdoor air temperatures have cooled in the last couple days, thankfully. The forecast for temp today is no higher than 25C (77F), coolish for this time of year. And rain might continue today, but varying hour-by-hour from 30% to 60%. Affords us some hope. We keep in touch with info on the internet... no evacuation alert for our neighborhood yet.

I'm glad to see you've had some rain. Hope you get more.

Happy Tuesday, July 30th, my cyber friends! It'll climb up to a warm but not overly hot, 93°/35% humidity here today. 65° at the moment so doors are open and fans have been bringing the cool outdoor air inside through the screens.

I'm mostly dedicating today to devising a new spreadsheet so I can better, more quickly analyze a customer's inventory status and advise them what to buy. The reports they generate are laid out in a surprisingly non-intuitive order and their IT guy is unable to fix it on his end.

I'll be stopping by SF when my brain needs a break.

Hope all have a good day.
@JBR, I'm delighted that you've gotten some rain and hope more falls throughout the day.

Made an incredible discovery. The taste, aroma, even color of coffee is incredibly enhanced simply by remembering to put ground coffee into the coffee maker.

I suppose opening billing statement mail while on the phone to the pharmacy is my limit these days. Making coffee at the same time is pushing things a little.

I'm so hot..I can't tell you.🥵🥵 Just as I was about to start on the shed, I got a text from the pharmacy asking me to pick up meds from June... so I got changed and went up there. ..but as I was gonna be out I decided to return a shirt I bought in a store 2 towns away.. The roads were quiet, and the stores were empty. Cashiers were sitting with their faces in their hands on the cash desks..no customers...toooo hot..

I got back from there, and went straight out in the garden, and then got 3 deliveries. I opened all of those in the garden... then noticed that the trees needed serious trimming back, and as the green waste is being emptied in the morning I tackled that instead...

Look how blue the sky is, it's almost royal blue..it's 90 degrees in my garden.. no breeze at all..

My face is burnt red despite plastering factor 30 over myself this morning before I went out....

I've come in to catch my breath, sit in front of the fan, and drink ice cold drink.. before I go back and clear up all the branches into the wheelie bin...*Phew*.... 🥵

Just trying get stuff done today because we're forecast for torrential storms tomorrow ...

Sure. Now they tell us we have more thunderstorms on the way later this afternoon. Drat. Maybe the lawn will dry out enough to mow today. Wish they'd make up their minds about what to expect:mad: Lordy! It is hot and sticky out there. I think I'm in for the day. Reading about @hollydolly's adventures in her garden made me appreciate a/c.

Stuff has been deadheaded in the garden and a phlox transplanted to a pot with another phlox. I don't know why, but when phlox gets planted in the ground, I can count on it getting fungus. What? Next year I'll know better and only plant phlox in pots. That'll show 'em.

We went to Wallyworld. DD/DGD had a cart full of groceries. I got some fungicide for the roses and a gallon jug of water. Because there was still $$ left on my Kaiser card I used it on DD's total, and she only had to pay a total of $23 for her stuff. I mean, heck, might as well use the Kaiser card when she buys groceries because I eat over there, too.

@hearlady Going to Dollar Tree in person is what I thought, too. I wanted to go in today, but there was refrigerated stuff in the car. When we go out again, I'm gonna insist on a Dollar Tree visit. If they see me often enough and get to know me my chances of getting hired when I'm able to work again go way up. Gonna seek out the new manager whenever I can, too.

Just act like you work there already. 😁

That's it for today. It's coming up to 7pm... still very hot.. but humid. I've cleared up in the garden put everything away.. didn't get around to clearing the shed, but I did tidy up in there. It's been a really busy day.. I've achieved a lot one way or another.
