Got up on the ladder and cleaned out a good run of eavestroughs yesterday. It's been hot but mostly sunny for a few days. Now it is supposed to cool off but this afternoon the rains start and will be pouring down for a couple of days. We're expecting anywhere from 1 to 4 inches depending on our luck.

Got rid of more stuff the boys had left behind decades ago. Almost down to bedroom furniture to unload since I have no need of it. Lots of music CDs and movie DVDs, so if they don't want them... more stuff to donate.

Hi gang, it is Monday!!! You already knew that didn't you!!! ;)
Didn't get up till 630am, but thaats okay...just few mins ago had
a choking/coughing spell that was a bad one, now I'm wore
out, but still gotta do the laundry, not going out in this heat
for any thing, hoping the lawn guy will get by today,...had another shooting in the area last eve, damn it, this town getting
some overrun from kansas city I think.....well take care and catch you later.....

Whew, from full sun to dark as sunset in 30 minutes. And the rain hasn't even started yet.

Well, at least I had to to get things arranged out back and covered up, got the mail, and put the trash out for tomorrow's pickup. I hate doing that after dark at night when it's pouring rain.

Ducked outside for a couple more things. Very eerie, heavy breezes changing direction erratically, lots of rumbling and crashing of not-so-distant lightning. A few fat drops of rain.

You guys are all so busy. I boiled a couple of eggs.
The tree guys are here. I'm trying not to watch. They are trimming 5 huge trees with their system of criss-crossed ropes and logs swinging through the air.
remember last year I had a bunch of hunks here chopping down my Holly tree... that did wonders for my eyes...:ROFLMAO:

Well I still haven't got the cabinet built... Instead I went downstairs to do it.. then got sidetracked cuz I was hungry, and put the chicken on to cook.. and while that was in the AF..I went out and gave the chair another coat of paint.

Then when the chicken was ready I cooked up some Beansprouts, chestnut mushrooms and noodles to have as a stir fry.... and as you all know as Stir fry has to be eaten as soon as it's cooked... :D.. After dinner as I cleared up I saw a whole bunch of what looks like tiny spiders.. the tiniest no bigger than a pinhead all crawling in a group on my fireplace.... I have no idea where they came from but I had to get the Vac.. and sweep them all up....

Now I'm hot.. got a cold drink and came up here for a rest ..lol... I'll tackle the cabinet later...

I said earlier I was preparing today to see my new doctor ( that I have waited 3 months to see ). I just got a call from them. She will not be in clinic tomorrow, so I had to reschedule. November 5th is the earliest available appointment. Can you believe that? Now it will be 6 months. Wow.
Oh yes I can every easily believe that ..we have exactly the same long waits to see Doctors, and very often they're cancelled to a much later date..very frustrating..

Just yesterday it was reported in our local paper that In the next county.. 600,000..yep you read this right.. 600,000 operations and appointments were cancelled in Just in one small county...over 4 hospitals ..one hospital alone in the county cancelled 13,500 appointments..just one hospital in just 12 months... that's just Unbelievably unacceptable..

Unfortunately one of them which cancelled almost 5,000 appointments last year is the hospital where I have my consultant... and if you all remember where I got £100 fine for parking in the staff car park because there was just no spaces for patients..

What is happening? Are we running short on doctors? Must be. or the amount of people has increased dramatically!! Lucky I am feeling "ok" these daze. But it is nuts!

I just couldn't sit here doing nothing any longer. Some of the iris that I starting cutting back this morning is in the shade now, and the SunJoe is recharged. Thought I'd go out and do a little more. Um. No. All I did was gather up the debris from this morning before noping out of that bit of exercise. Tomorrow is soon enough because it's cooler in the morning.

It's hot and sunny right now. My flowerettes and grass seed need water. That'll have to wait for a couple of hours so that I don't end up burning them. I did go out early to say good morning to them. It's important to talk to the plants, right?

My aunt was trying to grow an avocado plant from a seed. It got to the stage where it got pinched back, then half-heartedly showed some new growth. She talked to it daily, but it just sat there in the pot and stared at her.

Finally one day she told it that it either had to show some enthusiasm for new life or she'd throw it out and told it that it had a week. A week passed. Nothing. She told it that she'd give it another week. Nope. She threw it out. The moral of the story is that idle threats get you nowhere. That avocado seed probably figured it was safe because she didn't carry out the threat the first time. Either follow up with the consequences or don't make the threat to begin with.

TV. Solitaire. Boredom! Even so, those are preferable to going off with DD/DGD on their rounds. They left at noon to pick up a prescription, get a couple of things from Aldi and just now came home. Two hours to do 45minutes of errands, both within two miles of home. They did stop at McD's and brought me an iced coffee, so there's that.

I. Need. A. Job.

Why not do some volunteer service?

What do you suppose is putting a strain on our systems and turning current and future medical professionals away from what was once a calling?. 🤔

Doctors want to live and work in larger centres so there aren’t many willing to go to small, hick towns. The big centres also have better facilities. We have regular closures of some small ERs on the weekends when there’s a staff shortage. The nearest large hospital is an hour away, some much more.

Doctors are also leery of lawsuits. That can discourage young, bright folks to find a different profession.
