I just couldn't sit here doing nothing any longer. Some of the iris that I starting cutting back this morning is in the shade now, and the SunJoe is recharged. Thought I'd go out and do a little more. Um. No. All I did was gather up the debris from this morning before noping out of that bit of exercise. Tomorrow is soon enough because it's cooler in the morning.
It's hot and sunny right now. My flowerettes and grass seed need water. That'll have to wait for a couple of hours so that I don't end up burning them. I did go out early to say good morning to them. It's important to talk to the plants, right?
My aunt was trying to grow an avocado plant from a seed. It got to the stage where it got pinched back, then half-heartedly showed some new growth. She talked to it daily, but it just sat there in the pot and stared at her.
Finally one day she told it that it either had to show some enthusiasm for new life or she'd throw it out and told it that it had a week. A week passed. Nothing. She told it that she'd give it another week. Nope. She threw it out. The moral of the story is that idle threats get you nowhere. That avocado seed probably figured it was safe because she didn't carry out the threat the first time. Either follow up with the consequences or don't make the threat to begin with.
TV. Solitaire. Boredom! Even so, those are preferable to going off with DD/DGD on their rounds. They left at noon to pick up a prescription, get a couple of things from Aldi and just now came home. Two hours to do 45minutes of errands, both within two miles of home. They did stop at McD's and brought me an iced coffee, so there's that.
I. Need. A. Job.
