I had an online-privacy scare last Monday and changed all my passwords, router address and password, etc. Then I couldn't get my wireless printer back online. I haven't been able to print a thing all week; I've been close to tears and have fallen behind on my deadlines. I've tried everything I can think of: rebooting, uninstalling it and adding it back—I even tried hooking it directly to my PC with a USB cord, and it still won't print.

So, today a computer expert will be coming over to take a look. It will be a minimum of $120. I'm thinking it may be cheaper to just buy a new printer, but I'm emotionally worn out and need it back online for my work ASAP.

I plan to "treat" myself after that and buy wrapping paper for the baby shower gift I got for my older daughter.

Got the flowers planted except for the portulaca. It'll still be there tomorrow. The grass that was planted last Saturday is poking little shoots up already. Woohoo.

DGD didn't go with DD and me to the square because she's saving up her energy to go to a festival east of the city later this afternoon. We had a good time browsing and chatting with folks and petting all the dogs🐶🐕🐩 And wishing we had buckets of money to buy all the great stuff we saw. Some folks are really talented and have such clever ideas. I mean, really!

Gotta wash up the dishes. Maybe a nap is in order this afternoon. The heat really takes it outta me.

We toddled off to see what kind of craft items were offered in local city park.
Very disappointed that veneers weren't busy.

I would have liked to watch the parade but we didn't bring any folding chairs with us.

I made up a large casserole of German Potato salad for Sunday's family reunion.

Hope to make peach blueberry pie tomorrow morning to take with us.

Anyone having problem getting on Facebook?

Vacation is over, and my daughter is flying back to China for work although she will be coming home again for Christmas.

While the pups are still sleeping ....................................................... we are getting ready to leave.

I am going on my usual one-hour walk at sunrise, while my younger daughter drives her older sibling 70 miles to the LAX Airport

5 hours into the flight and 9 more hours to go. We can still communicate via text messaging. While the sun just rises in
Hong Kong, the night will soon fall in New York City. Flying East to West, you are flying with the sun, and you'll lose one
day when crossing the international date line at 180 degrees longitude. (Flying West to East, you'll have twice the same
day.) UA801 (UAL801) United Flight Tracking and History - FlightAware This American airline avoids Russia. When
we flew with a Chinese airline to visit our daughter, the shorter? route was over Alaska, the Bering Strait, Russia, and China.
Yes, that's true because the earth is a globe. The flat map below gives the wrong impression.

By Sunday 5:00 a.m. my daughter was back at her apartment, about 22 hours after she had left our house.

If you are planing a flight, you might save money this way:
flights.google.com -- type in your desired flight -- after the data pops up, scroll down a little bit to "view price history."
That chart will tell you whether it's a good time to book, or whether you might want to wait till it comes down again.

What a lovely, hot, sunny SUMMER Day! We went to one park, water for kids not turned on, so went to another park where grandson met a whole bunch of kids to play with. My son "had to send me away" for my own good when I got too nervous. You see, I'm always terrified grandson will get hurt, he plays so hard! Never worried about my little son, only his little son.

He's a real sociable kid, plays easily with others & tries not to knock over toddlers in his zeal! Great kid. Great food today, too. Pizza & ice cream!

Waited from noon to four for ATT tech. She arrived at 4:30. Seems like when they trimmed the trees some of the outside wires got messed up. It all seems to be working now.

Didn't get to the store but had chicken and frozen pineapple chunks on hand along with onions and bell peppers so created sweet and sour chicken. Not bad. Put it over long grain and wild rice.

That sounds good!

I started early by making my two prayers before sunrise, then getting right to work finding places for some of the stuff I moved out of our studio. It had become a room in which to store certain items and isn't big enough. That became more evident when my son set up the keyboard on a stand so I could play yesterday. He was pleasantly surprised when he got home from work.

After breakfast, I did three loads of dark clothes in my mini machines. That little spinner is awesome…spins better than industrial machines in just 2 minutes. Two (mini) loads is perfect for my dryer. The additional load was my cloth grocery bags, a slip I had mended, including adding elastic to the waist while the clothes were drying, plus one I had to hand wash because it dropped on the floor when I was putting clothes away. :cautious: I'm not a fan of sewing or hand washing stuff.

I put almost all of the laundry away but got down to about 5 pieces and decided I was just too tired to “go anotha futhah”, as they say. I watched an episode of Project Blue Book, had lunch and wound up taking a long nap. Shortly before I got up, I roused myself a bit and asked my son to feed Deja who was jumping on me with her hungry meow. When I finally got up, I put the machines away. I think I literally wore myself out today! I still have to have dinner and take my meds.

Next time anyone is bemoaning the laundry chore.... thank the good lord you don't live in Siberia in -70 degrees with no running water...
9 minutes long
I always feel good when I get the laundry done. But I can't imagine I'd feel good about having to do it in a minus 71 degree climate. They hang their sheets out to "dry" in the cold, but wouldn't they be wet again when the frozen dampness melts? I wouldn't want to live any further north than I already do (eg: Canada or even New England), let alone a place like Serbia. 🥶

I've looked everdamwhere and simply cannot find my motivation. If you see it hiding out somewhere or just wandering aimlessly, please send it home.

@hearlady When I finally roused my bony self outta bed at 7am, it was a lovely, cool 66F! It won't stay like this in the mornings, of course, but I can pretend it's fall for a day.

It is hot here! Definitely can't fake fall.

11:30 AM and still only 68 F here. We're definitely looking at an early Fall.

We've had a few stretches of very hot days but on the average we've been cooler and a little wetter than normal this season. The Great Lakes are high. The early cooling looks like it is expected to continue on into Winter.

I hope the winds change though. We're back to getting dirty rains from the West-SW again.
