Looking at life through children's stories.

I've been listening to a lot of children's stories lately, but I don't remember the Peter Pan story. I'll have to go watch it or listen to it and get back to you.

I know there are a few film versions and some animated ones. Are there any particular versions that we're supposed to fit in with?

It's up to you. That's why it's an open-ended question.

Hmm. OK thanks, that leaves a lot of room for interpretation.

I was just looking around and found that Disney+ has the 1953 animated version. There's also one called Peter Pan and Wendy. And there are a few returns to Peter Pan on Disney+.

There's also the Peter Pan syndrome that was popular a while back.

And Hook, that was the version with Robin Williams. I don't have access to that one.

If I get a chance, I'll check one out.

Well, since I started it, I thought I should at least answer the question, too.

The story and movie has always been magic to me, mostly as Wendy flying with Peter.to Wonderland.
It would be him and me along with the children landing in Wonderland and finding a home in a hollow tree.
I relate well to Peter because I really never wanted to grow up either. I did the best I could about that and no matter
what, that magic still lives in my heart.

Where do you see yourself fitting in with the PETER PAN story?
Peter Pan was originally a play by J.M. Barrie and its title was Peter Pan and Wendy.

The most interesting character IMO is Wendy, a young girl on the cusp of womanhood. She has three males in her life - her father who has a boring job in a bank, Hook the dashing and exciting pirate, and Peter who is the boy who will never grow up and assume the responsibilities of manhood.

Three models of masculinity - which one will she choose? No spoilers, you have to find out for yourself.

Great statement. I had a girl friend when I was 5. She and I were the same age and our families became good friends. Nancy and I would love to play together. Our favorite things to do was play games, like 2 square, hop scotch, and some board games. But the most fun we had was when we created a spontaneous play, that was usually based on some characters in children stories, or cartoons. The play was the best part, flowing from scene to scene and playing out your character, that got quite inventive. We wore costumes also. I liked the Zorro, and masks, and caps/capes. She would dress in jeans and dresses for the different parts. That is a children's story.

You might like AI Dungeon. It's an interactive story game. I'm just exploring it now.

I'm in the middle of Peter Pan, the classic 1953 version. I'm finding it quite interesting. I can't decide on the character until the end, but Wendy is appealing to me at the moment.
