It May Be Good for Me, But I Won’t Eat It

"Healthy" is subjective. I certainly wouldn't call Nutella "healthy". I've never tried kidneys or tripe but I think I would pass on those.

I generally prefer things to be plain & simple.

Siggi's non-fat Skyr (Icelandic yogurt). Ingredients: Pasteurized Skim Milk, Raspberry Puree, Cane Sugar, Fruit Pectin, Live Active Cultures. 10 g of sugar (which includes the 6 g of added sugar). It isn't overly sweet like most commercial yogurts are.

Teddy unsalted peanut butter. Ingredients: Peanuts. Imagine that!
I love kidneys.... tripe is a whole different matter, that's disgusting... My father loved that...

Yes all fish. Never could stand it. Also marmite. Yuk

I rather like Marmite but . . .

Years ago we were staying at a resort in northern Queensland, Australia. With breakfast, they would bring out a basket of those ubiquitous little plastic packets of jams and jellies. My youngest son took a packet of something brown, thinking it was apple butter. Eeewww! It turned out to be Vegemite. He said it tasted like "jellied car exhaust". I had to agree. :ROFLMAO:

Same here!

I also detest cottage cheese, even if it's mixed with fruit. I've tried several times, but I just can't choke it down.
KSav....I felt the same the first time I tried cottage cheese for "diet" purposes, since it was always touted as a diet food. I thought it was disgusting too and said I'd never eat it again. But since decades ago, one of my favorite things (remains to this day) is Golden Cheese Blintzes and guess what they contain. Yep, you guessed it....cottage cheese! I used to eat them with jelly, now I use agave. I keep a supply in the freezer.

Also, I did eat sushi a couple of times. Once was decades ago because that's what my friend in D.C bought for our lunch when she picked me up from the airport. I had it again years ago at a sushi place in Jersey where my sister and I went for lunch. The sushi rolls looked so interesting...pretty even. But with the amount of contamination in the oceans these days, I'll never have it again.

Nutella. I hate it. For some reason many young folks think that it’s healthy. The first ingredient is sugar. The second is palm oil. Third is hazelnuts. Etc. They should learn how to read a label. Do others have Nutella is your area?

Give me pure, natural peanut butter.
Nutella isn’t healthy. The commercials always make junk food sound nutritious even if it’s not.

There aren’t many vegetables or fruits I don’t like. I’m not a fan of seafood like shrimps, lobster, crabs, clams etc., nor exotic meats like pig ears monkey brains etc. I won’t eat such things, so no need trying them. It’s just majorly gross to me in every way.

My wife and I are much the same in that we eat plenty of fresh vegetables. We cook in a variety of ways, our preference being of that of Italian influence. We eat copious amounts of fresh fruit, most of our desserts are a mixture of berries, like strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and the like. The amount of other fruits that we get through like apples, pears, oranges, bananas, nectarines, plums and so on has two effects. We spend more than most on toilet tissue, and neither of us can ever remember being constipated.
We try to eat fish regularly, I cook a trout meal from a recipe that I saw on TV years ago, it's trouts and almonds with sweetcorn, served on a bed of rice. My wife conjures up a wonderful salmon meal and we always go meat and fish free, at least two days a week.

We eat really healthy also. We supply most of our fruit and vegetables by growing them and either freezing them or canning them. We can a LOT of foods. Yesterday we made big batches of baked beans and canned them.

We are growing a lot of strawberries and berries in general. We have raspberries and blackberries growing on our property and if we want wild 🫐 blueberries we go for a walk and pick them. We prefer to eat berries for our fruit source since they are so nutritious. We also grow watermelons and cantaloupe.

For vegetables we grow zuchinni,

Lettuce, beans, tomatoes, peppers, beets, cherry tomatoes and other small tomatoes.

For fish, my husband catches most of the fish we eat. Most of the fish he catches are speckled trout which are reddish pink inside due to eating sea shrimp.

We are very self sufficient and like it that way. The less people we have to depend on the better off we are.

Hagas, lamb's stomach and Brains, no chance in Hell!
Do you mean Haggis ?

it no longer contains sheep's intestines..it never contained sheeps' brains....

This is the ingredients of a Haggis these days...

Simply lamb, beef, oats, onions and spices, nothing more, nothing less. Haggis is basically like an oaty, spicy mince and a great source of iron, fibre and carbohydrate with no artificial colours, flavourings or preservatives.
