My wife and I are much the same in that we eat plenty of fresh vegetables. We cook in a variety of ways, our preference being of that of Italian influence. We eat copious amounts of fresh fruit, most of our desserts are a mixture of berries, like strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and the like. The amount of other fruits that we get through like apples, pears, oranges, bananas, nectarines, plums and so on has two effects. We spend more than most on toilet tissue, and neither of us can ever remember being constipated.
We try to eat fish regularly, I cook a trout meal from a recipe that I saw on TV years ago, it's trouts and almonds with sweetcorn, served on a bed of rice. My wife conjures up a wonderful salmon meal and we always go meat and fish free, at least two days a week.
