I prepped a lot yesterday. I want to make Monday a regular prep day. I soaked nuts overnight to dry today. I soaked quinoa to cook today and freeze in batches.
I hate my food processor. It's a pain to dig out and to clean. It works well so I've learned to make two or three of the things I use it for on the same day while its out. No need to clean in between, just scrape.
I made hummus and then I made black bean brownies. Both are things we like but use the processor.
I told DH that's a lot of legumes along with the bean soup we had for lunch. I thought a Warning Label was needed for all that explosive material. 😉

On my early morning walk at 6:40 as I went around the building complex twice, temp was 66,refreshing with a slight breeze
Today I'll be at close friends, Marcia&Dave's house dog sitting most of the day with their family dog,Tage, who is a pharoh hound. I haven't seen my 'buddy boy' since June miss seeing him on a regular basis. Marcia&Dave are going to Lillydale which is in small village of Pomfret, 1hr southwest of Buffalo As usual,I'll be bringing my lunch,Tage will 'help' me eat it, tuna fish, petite carrots, an apple This will be the highlight of my week

Expecting a high around 94 F today. Got quite a downpour just before sunrise, so the humidity will be higher than previously expected. Heat Advisory until 10 PM.

Made plenty of ice. Running A/C before peak usage hits and while outside air temps are still relatively low. Sort of to "recharge" the basement with cold and dryness to use it as a passive reservoir later in the day.

Keeping an eye on my sole sunflower plant this morning and wondering when it will stop growing and flower? Any I've had in the past have been 5-6 ft tall. This thing is at 9-10 ft now and still going. (fence is 6.5 ft).
Maybe I got the wrong seed? It has me thinking of that kid's story about Jack & the Beanstock.

I'm very far behind schedule today, because my messenger app has been misbehaving and I had to uninstall it. It wouldn't let me send anything to all! 😮

So far, this morning I have walked and fed

....and fought with my messenger app. I'm not feeling very productive right now!

I am excited because yesterday
I "borrowed" 4 huge photo albums from my Mom. There are a lot of great pictures that I can use for her electronic picture frame!!!

I don't have a scanner, so I have to take a picture of a picture....it's a lot of work, but I've been enjoying it. These albums have a lot of pictures of her old friends (all passed away, now), which is what I was hoping to get.

I found a picture of my Dad when he was in the service. On the back it says "fleet landing Cannes, France 9-22-53".
One of his jobs was to drive the officers around. This is the picture.....

Today I'll be going to the gym and to the foot doctor. I'm glad that I'm not going to the eye doctor, since the (very) high pollen count is messing with my vision.

to everyone! ....time for me to get going!

Hi, Trila et al.

I'm not gonna get going. I'm gonna sit here and pout and stuff for no particular reason. Just can't seem to get myself together the past couple of days.

@RadishRose I know about grubs and moles. Getting rid of the grubs is a fine idea, but they don't want to be gotten rid of. Therefore, the moles are enjoying a smorgasbord.

For any of you who are both frugal and bone tired this Aldi find might just fit the bill. It is a pork tenderloin just over a pound and a half. It is generously pre-seasoned with garlic and lemon and under 5 dollars. It is accompanied by their multi-colored tiny potatoes. I had it last night and again tonight. Thought it was worth sharing. I served it with green beans.View attachment 363625View attachment 363625
That looks wonderful!

@Georgiagranny ... what time do you have to be at the hospital tomorrow ?.. Will you be going home the same day ?

Sunny but very windy here...today...
Not hospital, just outpatient surgery. I have to be there at 12:30 for 1:30 surgery with nothing to eat or drink after midnight. Nothing to eat is okay but no coffee or even water? I'll be meaner than a snake by 12:30.

I don't know how long it takes, but I go home after it's done. DD has to stay on the premises the whole time. Sure hope her phone is 100% charged because they provide absolutely nothing to read and no TV except for Kaiser propaganda.

@Georgiagranny, today find some bright, colourful item in your house and stare at it. When your surgery is complete, do the same thing. It’s like having front row seating to a rainbow.

Take along some light reading material of your own that you can leave behind, if it goes missing. I don’t think you have a cell phone and ear buds, otherwise that’s what we’re encouraged to do at the hospital. No talking allowed, except at the end to call your driver, if they can’t reach them.

Yesterday son/grandson came over. We went bowling, well not me, I watched. Six year old grandson's highest score of five games = 98! He got a strike! Of course, at six he uses bumper guards, but still!!!!!!!!! Son an excellent bowler, started around four or five. His high score 254 w/no bumper guards.

Then we went to McDonald's. Then we came back to me, son did a ton of food shopping for me, while me & grandson watched this extra long YouTube with one of my favorite "stars" Rebecca Zamolo. Fascinating. Would never think to watch this on my own!

My son treats me with such respect. I have been having trouble going downstairs lately. Had to, to use bathroom at bowling alley (an arcade up there too, yay!) and while going back down to alley, he waited for me with extended hand to help. He's such a good man.

I'm surprised you can't drink water . I've had several procedures where I wasn't allowed to eat or drink from the night before the procedure.. and very often the operation hasn't been until 2pm.. but they've always said I was allowed to drink water before 9am on the day ....so you might want to double check that.

Just went through a week's worth of posting on this thread after seeing something about @hollydolly looking at an apartment. Didn't want to fall behind on what's happening with my SF crew. ❤️

Hoping @CinnamonSugar, @Blessed and @jet are recovering or fully recovered. I tested negative this morning but still have a remaining few symptoms. The most irritating are muscle fatigue and some shortness of breath with minor exertion, but a lot of people recovering from Covid are reporting the same issues, and say they're relatively short lived.

Fingers crossed our experiences wll play out similarly.

Spent some time this morning with a neighbor discussing his A/C, it's really old. He said it was not starting the way it used to. I told him it is most likely the capacitor. If I had a multi meter with the ability to test the micro farads we could have known for sure right away. I told him he could discharge it & take it to a hvac parts dealer to match it. Would be about $30.00 or less for a capacitor. Of course I'd guide him on how to discharge it & remove it.

He chose to call a hvac company. Diagnosed as failing capacitor. $75.00 trouble call response charge, $75.00 parts & labor.

He is happy that his a/c works great now, that's all that really matters.

It's 100°F right now. I'm glad to be home and in the house! The plan is to go to the lake this evening...it sounds like the water will be nice and warm, just the way I like it!

My Honorary Daughter (HD) picked me up at 9 a.m. to take me to Walmart. At first she stopped to pick up her mother, who lives in another town. It took me a little longer to shop than planned because I couldn't find chair cushions and finally had to ask a saleswoman. I spent almost $130, the most I've ever spent in on visit to Walmart, but I did so because Discover has 5% cashback at Walmart until Sept. 30th.

HF was so sweet; she wouldn't let me carry any of my bags into the house, so I insisted to at least carry the gallon of bleach. The only items I put away were the ice cream, whipped cream and frozen mangoes. I made a mini pizza, changed clothes, ate lunch and took a nap. What I must do for sure this evening is sort laundry. There's a possibility that I'll put at least some of the rest of the items away later....if I get. ...

Pretty standard Tuesday. Tai Chi class this morning was good. We've started learning The 'Ba Duan Jin' or '8 Brocades' set. Very good gentle exercise that I've been looking forward to learning for some time.

Lunch out with Mrs Oy and Likkle Grandson, then home for some work editing freelance photo jobs. Tomorrow I'm driving down to the old hometown to visit an old friend that is pretty much housebound now. She's 96 and was quite a force in the photography scene back in the day.
