Ordered a replacement TDBU blind for the living room. We were fed up with having the drawstrings replaced. They are a different style now; no hanging cords that might strangle little kids.
what type did you get Jules... I want that type when I move to a new home... cuz mine keep breaking here...

These are made specifically to fit to our window. It can’t be moved. I love the TDBU (top down/bottom up). We can decide what portion of the window we want exposed. Depending on the sun, we may just have the sun coming in or totally closed. Most of the time we have the bottom half closed. This would be a good style for a ground floor dwelling.

Ah yes I've seen those before, good idea....

A thermometer for DH. I can't find the one we had. Also, some orange juice (A comfort food for him) and a box of Traditional Medicinal Organic Throat Coat. He can't take most OTC medicines with blood pressure medicine. Vitamin C.
All for the arrival of covid.

The Bear Grylls 'No Planet B' Eco watch combines Luminox’s precision watchmaking with Bear Grylls' adventurous spirit and the innovation of #tide ocean material, while simultaneously championing environmental conservation.

The 42mm case and the strap are made from 100% ocean plastic collected in partnership with #tide. The black strap has the message – “I USED TO BE A BOTTLE” printed on the inside of the strap, reminding the wearer of its origin.

The watch features a Swiss Quartz movement, 200m water resistance and the Luminox Light Technology. The case back has a unique ocean design with the mantras ‘EVERY SECOND COUNTS’ and ‘NEVER GIVE UP’ engraved alongside the Luminox, Bear Grylls and #tide logos. The strong and emotional phrase ‘NO PLANET B’ is visible on the dial and serves as a stark reminder of the seriousness of our environmental crisis and the need to make drastic changes now.

We have to protect PLANET A ... there is no PLANET B
I don't exactly need another watch but couldn't pass up this group buy opportunity.

The watch retails for $395 but I picked it up for $180 + USPS medium priority
I got it as part of a group buy on "my" firearms forum
A jeweler who happens to be a long time member of the firearms forum arranged the buy
Should be here pretty quick ~~~

$49.99

Peacock no ads subscription @ $13.99 a month. Basically so we could access Telemundo programing.

My son set everything up for us so now all we have to do is learn to navigate all the features.

I don't get out very often, but tonight my son and I went out for dinner and brought home food for DH who didn't want to go out. After dinner I actually went to Walmart, bought half a dozen blouses. It did occur to me as I chose them that I wouldn't be wearing them much, out for dinner usually about once a week or two.

I love Storage boxes which look like books... I have several already . Today I bought these 2 large one, they're so heavy they actually feel as tho' they're made from wood...

...also bought 2 new plants .. and a waste paper bin...

Explanation: When embarking on Pennsylvania trip a couple of weeks ago I knew Covid was every-freaking-where so I duly masked up in the airport and plane heading there. A few hours in, the backs of my ears were distractingly sore from the mask elastic. I soldiered through but was pretty uncomfortable.

On the way home I (waahhh) didn't want to deal with sore ears again, so like nearly everyone else on the plane and in both airports, I was mask-free. A few days later I felt ill, then tested positive for Covid. I'd gambled 8 hours of discomfort for a week of it and lost my bet.

Yesterday the light dawned: I'm a woman with a small to average sized head wearing standard sized adult masks. Surely to heavens I can't be the first person to deal with sore ears. Went to Amazon, searched "sore ears mask" and lo and behold they offer all kinds of inexpensive gizmos to ease the discomfort. Spent $4.99 on this four pack. I'll report back after giving them a try.

My friends, I'm here to tell you this product is an absolute winner. Am kicking myself for not thinking of it long ago!

What else?

Music!

Bought a few actually. Of note is Sirius by Stockhausen, with is 90 minutes long, and PJ Harvey's album "I Inside the Old Year Dying".

Both of the aforementioned are challenging in their own right. Stockhausen should need no introduction, but this is one of his electronic works. PJ forgoes normal song structure to give insight into her book length poem, Orlam. Sometimes, you need music that befuddles, challenges, and subverts expectations.

Trying to make up my mind to spend money on a chair that I don't need. Just read online why old people don't spend money. Guilt. We feel guilty about spending our own money. What? But it's true in my case. I feel guilty so I'm waffling 🧇 🧇 🧇 . First I say do, then don't, back to do, then don't again.

My dad used to say, "Just make a decision. It might be the right one or might be the wrong one, just make one."

ETA somewhat later: I did it! I frittered away my kids' inheritance and ordered the chair! Yay. It'll be here Thursday.

I bought, and entry into the Vintage Motor museum today.. that was £11... .. I bought my share of lunch out of 4 of us...

I bought a summer top.. and a dress as well..

The dress is a little greener than in this photo because it's 9.30pm here and so I have lights on... but it's panelled all the way around, and weighted, and lined.. so it really hangs nicely. I'll probably have it taken up 2 inches..
