I went to the Amazon hub this morning to pick up my packages then to the supermarket. I got home in time to catch the last morning train to the Hoboken/Jersey City waterfront park. I've been going to the Jersey City side lately. I found a nice pizza shop and had lunch there. They also have a clean bathroom. Two reasons I like going to that side better...lunch is not overpriced (like the Hoboken side) and I always need to be fairly close to a bathroom. I had a nice chat with the workers after complimenting them on their pizza and place.

Today was the first time I've ever dozed off on a bench. I enjoyed feeling the breeze brush past my face. At one point, the sun felt hot so I walked to where it was shadier and cooler. I was so tired today that I couldn't walk as far as usual before taking breaks. It was a nice relaxing day except for the train ride home. Some roudy biker boys, all with bikes, got on the train and were using language I did not like. They were loud too.

So I plugged up and listened to music. I asked one of them who I had to pass (he wasn't among the roudy) when I exited the train if they were in a biker club. He said that they were from New York, not in a biker club, just friends. I didn't realize how many of them there were until I got ready to get off and saw how their bikes were an obstruction. There must've been at least 20 of them, but only about 4 of them were causing the commotion.

All I wanted to do was come home and watch T.V. But I knew once I ate something...TV would be watching me and that's exactly what happened. I just fixed up the garbage and am going to go sit it out on the curb now. May you have a.....

We Have Power!!!! 🥳🙌🏻🎉
Oh and a little ha-ha from last night after power restored…. It was dusk when we got power and after about an hour I remembered I needed to set the clock on the stove. So I’m leaning over in the dark corner of the kitchen, squinting at the display panel, trying to figure out which is the ‘set clock’ button, when it dawned on me.. “doofus, you *can* turn on a light!” lol 😂

Got to get a few things in town, so will stop off at the recycling centre and get rid of some rubbish. On non-school days, the school car park is open for public use, so that's handy. Nearly all parking is free in this area. Some rain forecast for this morning, but should be drier this afternoon.
I wish the parking was like that here in my area... the only thing they don't chrage for is a passing place in the lane....

@OneEyedDiva , I felt like I was enjoying the day along with you, even those rowdy boys. :)

Another nice day on tap, and here I sit feeling so far down I'd have to reach up to scratch a snake's belly. I'm just tired of being old and dependent on DD to go anywhere or do anything.

We're going to the farmer's market at the square this morning and then to the garden centers. I should be over the moon, but yanno? I'd like to just go somewhere by myself from time to time. And I'm feeling guilty as sin because DGD is bed-ridden today with RA pain, and while I'm not happy that she's all but immobile, I'm glad to be going somewhere without feeling like I'm the third wheel, just along because she and DD feel like they have to take me out with them.

Getting old was no big deal. It just happened a little at a time. Actually being old sucks big, hairy donkey balls. It happens all of a sudden every day.

So much for gloom and doom today. I gotta get myself together, tidy up, get dressed, get going.

Carry on.

Waiting for new toilet to be installed. A step closer to bathroom being finished.
I made candied pecans and maple balsamic dressing ahead for my fall salad. I think I will also make the soup ahead for family dinner and finish it tomorrow with the spinach and cream. Anything I can do ahead I do so I don't get caught up at the last minute.
DD is bringing foccacia so I don't have to deal with that. 👏

clearly stating the obvious here..but can't you borrow a car ,and go by yourself ?

7:50am PDT now. Without AC, opened my windows and doors at 5:10am so now living room is 70.1F down from 78F late evening. Outside is 66.2F down from 95F yesterday at 6pm. Nice to be next to the cool Pacific though high forecast is 97F.

No problemo, as mr dave will be driving up to The City in 3 hours for the huge free Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco with maybe 250,000 others where the high will be below 79F.
2 much fun for an old guy!

Got the second of the Ottoman chests assembled today ( the leather one )... this is the middle sized of the 3...
