Now I want a few crinkle-cut potato chips dunked in dark chocolate. Somehow salt feels like it would enhance the flavor, even if it's a second thing I'm avoiding. I'll try not to think about dunking those in cherry syrup.

@jet I want that cottage! Ask Mrs. Jet if it's okay for me to join in on your holiday.

We went to the book sale. I'm exhausted. Got three paperbacks books and two hardbacks for $4.50. The hardbacks are Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series...I was missing 25 and 26 in the series.

Kids, I'm telling ya, if you want some really fun reading, read the whole series. The first is called One for the Money, then Two for the Show... Read them when you're alone, though, because you'll laugh so hard and so often that whoever is in the room with you will get very annoyed :ROFLMAO:

Stephanie is a "bond recovery agent" which translates to bounty hunter, in Trenton, NJ. She has a sidekick, Lula, and a BF, Joe Morelli. Joe has a very large dog named Bob. You'll come to know and love them all.

Right now I'm chowing down on spaetzle that I got when we were at Aldi yesterday. Onion. Delicious. Can anybody tell me why spaetzle from Deutsche Küche is made in Italy?🤔

When it's gone, I'm gonna take a nap. Going anywhere with DD and DGD is positively exhausting (even when we don't even get out of the car!). Today's excursion was first to the huge book sale held at the civic center. Miles of books! Then across the road to the credit union, then to the post office, then to a coffee shop, and finally a trip to Arby's drive-thru so they could get lunch because today is their diet "skip day."

I only got out once, at the civic center, but those two! Honestly, they never get quiet for even a second...constant chatter...usually with DGD reading something from her phone to DD, generating howls of laughter, cries of derision, gasps of outrage and on and on. Sooo glad to be home in the peace and quiet of The Hovel.

BTW, I slept well in my new Ladies Loungewear (with pockets), in case anybody wondered.

I've been unusually energetic lately. A couple days ago I went to see the Lincoln Memorial because I couldn't remember if I've ever been to it. It didn't look anything like the idea I'd gotten from TV. Maybe it was the wrong time of day for light to shine in, I couldn't see the statue from outside, and when inside the statue looked smaller than I expected. But it was a pleasant activity except for several mosquito bites (turns out it is close to the Tidal Basin and the Potomac River, plus it has been raining most of the past few weeks).

Today I went on the usual Friday old people hiking club hike. Then when I got home I got online and submitted a request to my US Representative's office to try to get a tour of the White House. Seems like a clunky process, had to submit three dates I'd be available, and now I wait to see whether any of those have capacity.

Well, leave it to me to screw up taking a shower....grrrrrr...just
stepped into the stream of water and apparently it went right

maybe it will leak out later....durn it.....o_O:(

In my travels today with work I had to drive by my daughter’s apartment, so I stopped in the check on things for her. She actually has power, so I set the AC at 74, so as not to run up her electric bill too much but keep the mold/mildew at bay. Not sure when she’ll be back in town. No internet as yet

I'll check out that series.
Oh, and I'm waiting for the reply from Mrs. Jet. 😉

I was going to join the old people's hiking club but they discontinued right before I did. I need to see if I can get them to restart. It may have been just too hot over the summer.

@hawkdon You likely dislodged some ear wax. Warm up a little bit of olive oil. Run a spoon under hot water. Put on the oil and then put in your ear. Do this several times per day. That should help flush them, though you might need to buy something or call the doctor to really flush them.
