Yes I thought about the wars when we were going thru the pandemic for 2 yrs and everyone complaining. I thought, but we’re not having to do this for 5-6 years like the folks that lived through WWII did…. I think they were just tougher then
Oh I couldn't agree more..I often look at the snowflakes in our society today, who complain about the slightest thing, and think...God help us if we're ever involved in a war !

Got the for want of a better word ''stew''.. cooking now.. I've included, chestnut mushrooms, potatoes, leeks, red onions, broccoli, sausages , and of course minced beef.. with gravy..

In a few minutes I'll add sugar snap peas, and dumplings... .. then it'll be ready to cool down to portion up later tonight...

I refuse to click on that, because knowing you it'll be someone puking....
No, no, nooo. I'd never do that to you. Of course it still might make you want to.

It became a sort of inside gag and was referred to by those comedians for years. Actually they are still bringing it up over 25 years later and the fans love it.

Think of them as a sort of Minnesota version of Monty Python.

Planned & achieved the need to update all financial information my wife & sons will need. Made up a folder with credit card numbers, account numbers for our sons. <--- They know where that info will be kept. Contacted Fidelity for understanding legal & cost for inheritance transfer of assets.

All legal conditions will be met, there will be no court or probate needed due to how the accounts are set up. No out of pocket costs at all. No state tax on inheritance.

I can relax now knowing the headache for family members regarding financial issues will not be a headache for them.

@hollydolly Save me a portion, too, please.

So I got to go out and play today after all. We went to Aldi where DD and DGD bought groceries and mums. DD bought two bright yellow mums for me ☺️. They were in the Aldi ad for $2.49 in 8" pots but on the shelves for $4.99. What? We asked the manager about the price, and he agreed that he'd seen the ad, too, and was honoring the ad price. Yay.

I spent most of the time perusing Aldi's Aisle of Shame. There sure are fun things there, and I actually found "ladies loungewear," i.e. a nifty pair of pajamas for a mere $15.

It just happened that among the many flower pots I've saved there were two yellow ones the right size and the same color as the mums so popped them in the pots and set them in two spots in the garden that are already a bit bare.

I feel very Drop-ish (when the leaves drop off the trees) now. And DGD bought some apple cinnamon coffee pods and some caramel macchiato pods and split them with me. So I had caramel macchiato coffee while admiring the new mums.

There was another load of laundry to do when we got back so my new Ladies Loungewear got thrown in with it.

They still have another store to visit, but I'm not going along. They dawdle, and I get tired. Instead, I'm gonna fold my laundry, put clean sheets on the bed and change into my new...Ladies Loungewear. Plain old pajamas sounds so...plebeian. Ladies Loungewear, on the other hand so...so...ahem...patrician. Y'all know me well enough by now to know that "patrician" is an accurate description of me:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

It's a beautiful day, and I will be plenty busy!!!

I couldn't find the ladies loungewear .😒 I wanted to see it. Is it comfy?

Since I was at CVS for my Rx earlier, I ran into Aldi next door (both are less than a mile up the main road) to spend yet more money. Needed some produce.

The place was a madhouse! My neighbor was there on her day off; we couldn't say much more than 'hello'.

Then I found out; Food Stamps came in today, therefore the stampede.

Late supper soon. French toast.
