Do you keep your doors locked day and night? Home, Vehicle.

I grew up a farm kid and the parents locked up after the 10:00 news. I live near metro and lock up most of the time.
Open in the Afternoons until after dinner and the place is locked up near dusk. Too many middle of the night knocks
at the front doors and people harmed and robbed around 3 am. Wife has bear spray and vehicle alarms.

on locking cars. had one car that was stolen FOUR times. a '64 Chevy Impala... NOT souped up... ne to the bank or supermarket... in lousy shape. it was locked all the time but apparently easy to get into and start without keys.

my dad's rules... as soon as you get in the car, you LOCK the doors. if you've just gone to bank or supermarket, you do NOT sit in your car counting your money.

a purse belongs on the floor, under your seat.

I keep my car locked because it's so easy, just touch the door handle. But it's eleven years old and not exactly a hot item for thieves. I leave the house open during the day, but lock it when I go to bed or leave. I think the odds are pretty slim that someone will pick my house to rob. The most expensive item I have is probably the refrigerator and I don't think they would try to carry it off.

I dont ever lock the car when I am in it.
Depends on whether I'm driving through a sketchy or rough neighborhood. My husband is more apt to lock vehicle door when we're inside than, but worked or drove through rougher neighborhoods for many more years than I did and picked up the habit.
