What a relief!!! So happy for your good news.Back from the vet. Bad news, doggie has a torn cruciate ligament. Surgery is an option with a 6-8 week recovery with cone and must be lifted to go potty. I can't do it. Other option is pain meds for an extended period until arthritis builds up to stabilize the knee. At age 14 years, we'll go that route. At least there will be less lifting and less chance of dropping her or falling.
Right now, she's fed, medicated and resting in her bed comfortably. I was a mess, but calm now.
@Jules, thank you!@RadishRose You’re doing the very best for little doggie. Hugs.
Thanks, @Rossana.@RadishRose Thank you so much for the update. We will be thinking of you and your doggie.![]()

Hello, all! Thank you for the responses to my previous brief hello post, and for each of your posts asking me for an update on how I've been doing.
I greatly appreciated seeing them, even though I couldn't respond sooner.
I've been struggling with depression, in addition to the other challenges of my health and DH's, and the other stressors ongoing in our living situation, and with our difficult limitations.
I don't like to post when I don't have more of my abilities and a bit of optimism to share, at least a little better than what they are recently, but I am making an effort to post today, anyway.
I know that interactions here with all of you, help to combat the isolation I feel, which makes everything else worse.
I read some of your posts, earlier today, and will catch up more, gradually. I couldn't post then, due to I'd forgotten my password, and wasn't able to retrieve it at that moment.
@RadishRose
I was sorry to read that your dear pup has the serious leg problem, but I am relieved to learn that it isn't even worse a reason, than it is. And that there's an option to surgery, which would not be a safe option for either of you.
I hope this route works out well. Was there an estimate of how long it might take the leg to strengthen, or how long she'd need to be taking the daily pain meds. Is she able to be active at all while on them?
I have a neighbour who was hobbling around on walking aids for ages while she waited for a hip operation. I saw her recently out shopping, she was walking around and with no problems at all. Shame she had to wait so long but, amazing the different the op has made.Good morning. It's very warm here this morning. 60F. This is the day our daytime temps are supposed to start going down to the 70s, and there's actually a 20% chance of...rain! I'm not going to get too excited, though, because that means there's still an 80% chance that there won't be rain.
I meant to tell y'all that in the grocery store Friday, we met a lady who'd had hip surgery a few weeks back. What's remarkable is that she reported to the hospital at 6am, had the surgery, was up and walking by noon, then walking every half hour the rest of the afternoon (including up and down stairs), and home by 7pm. Whaaaat? Hip replacement is now out-patient, drive-by surgery? Unfreakingbelievable. What's next? Heart transplants done in the doc's office?
The agenda today is... I dunno.
@Kaila, and @Trila, she can be carefully active, very limited. No, I don't know for how long...Thanks for your concern.I hope this route works out well.
