Something to watch later this afternoon as the Yankees and Dodgers play in Los Angeles. Most recall the 1963 World Series when dominant Los Angeles pitching swept in 4 games with Sandy Koufax the big star. As a downtown LA born native, was long a Dodger fan and Yankee hater during that era but have long since abandoned that team. Like New York, they have bullied the rest of the teams with their $$$ and media dominance. Know little about the current teams or players, have no preferences, and instead hope for interesting, well-played games.
Note as a kid, I played endless softball and baseball including being in Little League, so the sport is deeply part of my being. I just love the visceral feeling of with a powerful swing, connecting at the meat of a bat with a hardball.
