Thanks.

Yeah, that's what I thought. So I wonder why Sean's videos always say "Brit sees New York" and Brit does this and that?

I'm not asking you, I'm just wondering. The guy even has a Scottish accent, so it seems odd.
Maybe I'll read his profile...maybe that'll explain it.
possibly because not everyone knows who a Scot is.. and he gets more views for it being British..

It used to drive my mother to distraction...whenever a Scot won a substantial goal.. like a gold medal , or an inention, the news always decribed it as a ''British achievement''... however if the person was English.. they were always lauded as such..

sadly all the reviews on Amazon say it's an American product which is impossible to get repairs done..
Kenmore was made by Sears-Roebuck, now known as Sears. They allegedly only have nine stores left in the U.S., but that is considered still in business.

I would imagine finding a place with parts to repair a Kenmore will become more and more difficult. I now have to order bags for my Sears vacuum on line; there will probably come a day when that’s not possible.

Yay! I finally got to install new electrical outlets in our bedroom.

For some reason, this one wall had no outlet and Meesh has always wanted the bureau and her light-up vanity thingy over there. And it's a pretty big wall, so I have no idea why it was never wired. Maybe the wall was added by someone who didn't want to hire an electrician.

Anyway, a childhood friend of my sons is an electrician with something like 30 years experience, and he came over on Tuesday to help me install some wiring, and then me and a neighbor installed new drywall and did the texturing and priming yesterday, and me and Meesh painted it last night.

A couple hours after Meesh left this morning (when my pain med kicked in), I rearranged the bedroom furniture so the bureau and her vanity table, or whatever it's called, are over on that wall. She wanted the bureau there because she wanted to put a lamp on it that she could turn on from a wall switch. Brian installed a switch, so that's all good.

My achievement for today.

Meesh will see the new arrangement when she gets home in a couple hours. I'm sure she'll love it....it looks really good.
And I totally get why she wanted that lamp there. Previously, we had to walk all the way across the room to tun on a light.

Now, with that switch there, I'm thinking of installing a ceiling fan and light. That'd be nice. And I'll use conduit so I won't have to open up that wall again.

I finally got a full night's sleep, though only because I was so worn out that I fell asleep early last night.

Went on the Friday old people hike. The usual leader wasn't up to climbing a hill today, and most of us continued but then the park trail became a branch of trail through woods behind some houses. We were standing around looking at maps on our phones, unsure of the best way back. Before we decided to simply reverse course, a ferociously (sounding) snarling and barking dog came charging at us, but then abruptly stopped when it got a look at our large (12) group, then the poodle turned and fled home (with a brief stop to throw some more barks at us from a safe distance when it got a second poodle reinforcement).

Since I got home I've been trying to decide on some future activities. I signed up for a tour of the Capitol building in a few weeks, and then I signed up for a one day bus trip to Annapolis next month. After that I started looking at potential trips for next year. I'd love to see Pompeii, but the first few suggestions from Google were out of my budget. Then I looked at an interesting Costa Rica trip that would fit in my budget, so I put it on my 'maybe' list. I wish Australia and New Zealand weren't so very far away. On the hike today I chatted a lot with someone who has been retired longer and she's gone to so many places. I've been bitten by the travel bug!

What repairs do you wnt to get done at an item under 100? When Max dies he will join a number of Dysons and Mieles.
excuse me ?..for one thing here in the Uk it costs well over £100 because it's imported.. 2 if anything goes wrong with it I can;t get parts.. 3 as all reviewers have reported here this machine comes with an american plug on it.. so why would I want something that causes me a PITA

4. When certain of Dyson's patents expired, all vac makers were free to use his designs and innovations.

It's hard to find a vacuum that doesn't work like a Dyson, and for a lower price.

I have an old Kenmore which is too heavy to haul around so I use a Shark Navigator but last time I needed bags I found a generic one that worked.

precisely..I hate dysons... OTOH...My cat & Dog Miele has lasted me decades.. and still goiing strong... The cordless Miele's are very expensive, even more so than the cannister ones .. which is why I haven't bought one of those.. but I'm beginning to think it might be worth my while after all..
