What were the Highlights of Your Summer

Wow! It's hard to believe we're in the Fall season and heading toward Winter. Why does time seem to go so fast as we get older?
I had a very full Summer. I built a greenhouse for my wife. She's a plant lover. We also did some traveling and quite a bit of day tripping. I try to be outside as much as possible. I also spent time writing a new book. I'm working on the final draft now. My website is growing in both content and readership. The Classic Movie section was down for about a month. For those of you who have been keeping tabs I'm happy to report it's back up and running. Classic Movies HERE.

Fairly dull as my summers go.. I did go away for a week in the Uk at the Southern Coast .. mixed emotions about that. ..the accomodation wasn't great, but the places I visited were , so they were a hi-light

Employed a tree suregon to come and chop back a whiole load of my trees.. and he also trimmed all my headges , so much harder back than I can do it.. so that was a big help to me...

We only managed a few short holidays visiting various castles and historic houses, but it was nice to get away. The high spot, as usual, was our daughter coming to stay. It's a wonderful time .. she is a university professor, a published author and international traveller, but when she's here, she's our 'little girl'. She loves going to the children's playground, or running along the beach, dodging the waves.

The prof and her bear..

A quiet summer. SO fully recovered from spinal surgery. Mummy bailed out from.moving to Oklahoma at the 11th hour and broke her neck. Found a good contractor at physical therapy who installed a permanent cedar/glass greenhouse around the hot tub. Grew enough hot peppers to almost put Tabasco out of business. Fell in love again with a good looking fellow with a short beard and a big attitude. He does love cats and serves coffee in bed.

The highlight of our summer, was, having my brother & sis-in-law visit us from Vancouver. They went on to visit a friend in the movie business who lives in Quebec, where they've never been before. From their photos, it looks like they had a very enjoyable time.

We got together with my sister, who lives a couple of hours away. Also visited nephew & his wife, who live outside Toronto.

My highlight was my first ever solo camping trip. My tent attached to the car so I could sleep in the car. I had a beautiful spot in the mountains right on the Red River in New Mexico. The altitude at the campground was 8,500 feet so it was nice and cool. Then spent a couple of days in a hotel and doing a little sight seeing before heading home.

One of my highlight was an amazing summer trip to Mexico! 🇲🇽☀️ From snorkeling in magical cenotes to exploring Chichén Itzá and devouring endless tacos 🌮, every moment was unforgettable. The beaches were stunning, the culture vibrant, and the people so warm and welcoming. Mexico, you were a dream can’t wait to visit again someday! ❤️ We are planning on visiting Indonesia. I read from this blog Indonesia Tourism Statistics 2023 - All You Need To Know about Bali and Mount Batur.. does anybody been there? How was it?

Sounds great. Where in Mexico did you go? Do you know the language?

I have only been to Jakarta, a wretched filthy place. I saw a cat walk into the middle of the restaurant where I was eating except that it wasn't a cat. Anyway I have heard much better things about Yogyakarta and Bali.

Nothing was a highlight this summer or any of my summers for a very, very long time. I have been retired for almost 3 years so I am very happy about that. But I hate summer. We never go anywhere as hubby has bad asthma and we want to save money. We have not been on a vacation since 2014 and that was just for a weekend to Victoria. I hate summer because it gets extremely hot in BC now. I hate hearing the noises of summer, kids yelling outside, music played loud, renovations ongoing on my street, etc.

Don't you have inexpensive charter holidays from Canada? To maybe California, Florida, Mexico, or the Caribbean?

I spent a week on vacation with my sister and her family. The memories of that time warm my heart and make me smile every time I think about how wonderful it all was.
