sadly they are, as so many others seem to be now..extremely self entitled..... :cautious: dobtless when he's gone, they'll be boasting about how much they did for him...or the other thing that seems to have caught hold.. if you ask to see your children or grandchildren..your labelled ''needy''...
Exactly right. One of his DDs has two dogs. She's "too tired" to walk them after work and "too busy" on her days off so calls him to pick up the dogs and take them to the park. Good thing he loves the dogs.

She's the DD who had a serious eye/brain ailment a year ago and had to travel 250 miles to the nearest specialist to operate/follow up/treat/perform two more surgeries. Guess who drove her there, stayed overnight, drove her home multiple times over the space of about six months while she was being treated and recovering.

Guess who drove her DD to school and picked her up for four years until she graduated last spring.

Grrr.

Anyway, my motivation has been misplaced again, and it's needed in order to get morning stuff done and...wait for it...dust(!) so that the Christmas decorations can make their yearly debut. Maybe I'll find it hiding under the covers when I make the bed. I'll check around to see if Maggiecat hid it under the sofa. It's gotta be around here somewhere.

Took three attempts for my son and I to get the cat in the carrier this AM to go to the vets. Not only is he all muscle, he apparently can turn himself into quick silver when needed 🙄

They will work him in between surgeries. Hopefully he’ll be home by five, and not with a fully-developed plot to murder us all lol

I don’t know what the rest of the day holds. It has turned raw and chilly, so maybe a good soup making day.

Found! I found my motivation. It was hiding in a cup of coffee:coffee:. So the rest of yesterday's dishes got washed, bed was made, *dusting done (!!!!) and my little ceramic tree settled on a shelf behind the sofa.

I gave myself a medal🏅

*Mark your calendars. Today is November 29. I might dust between now and Easter (which is late this year, April 20).

My early morning walk at 7 a tad nippy 32 with a breeze, felt colder wore long underwear to protect my knees as I went around building 1x before breakfast
I did a 'spur of the moment' idea, caught the local bus at 8:10 went to Kohl's forgetting it was 'Black Fri',felt like any normal Fri to me, saw 20 cars in parking lot{store opened at 5am}. I needed to buy new bed sheets,Xmas gift card for a friend I was back home within 40min
The rest of my day take afternoon walk, read NYT, tonight see if anything is worth watching on TV

We had a wonderful time at the dinner yesterday. Unfortunately, there must have been something bad in the food. Dio and I both were up all night, running to the

. Neither of us actually feel bad this morning, just emptied out and tired!

Plans for today involve doing absolutely NOTHING! All projects are on hold (unless they can be done while sitting around), while we recover!

I might work on my Christmas cards, or we have a movie to watch, that's the extent of my day.

Well it's 4.35pm dark.... and tems are dropping.. they say tho' were going to get drizzle all day tomorrow.. so it might warm up a bit..

I've stripped the new bed, put on a new Mattress topper because the mattress is just a little too firm for me...

Put the sheets in with everything else in the Washer, and that's now doing it's thing...

Vacc'd all upstairs including the ceilings... doesn't take long at all to do it with this Shark cordless..

Found homes in various drawrrs and ottomans' for some of the stuff that came out of the storage on the old ottoman bed.. but I'm still going to have to donate or sell.. a lot of the stuff..

In the meantime in the bedroom wher Ive moved to whichwas my husband's office room.. the cordless phone (handset) in there has got some kind of lurgy..I picked it up and couldn't believe my eyes...some kind of horrid crusty stuff on the connections..

I've posted pictures on the forum here in the hope somebody has some asnwers

Techi people... what's happened to this Landline phone ?

Had tentatively planned this dawn to do some urban street leaf photography for the first time this fall, but too much food binging and all yesterday into the wee hours last night. Plus temperature this morning was in high 30Fs so just went back to sleep till 9am. Tomorrow Saturday or Sunday leaves will be about the same and it won't be as cold with otherwise same sunrise conditions.

Between the cat/vet stress this AM and some family drama that’s been brewing for years and has now decided to come to a head, I am not worth cr*p today.

I’m half tempted to go for some retail therapy… which given that it’s Black Friday, (the thought of dealing with all the crowds would normally send men into a panic attack) you can tell just how badly I need diversion! 🙄

I found the bag that has the items for games at my family's Christmas party (if we have one this year). It' usually the first Sunday in December, which would be this Sunday (Dec 1st). I haven't heard anything yet, but maybe because it's so early the host decided on a later date.
Anyway, I've been looking for it the last week or so. I remember it being in the closet in the basement, but everything got moved around or discarded when the basement flooded in August. I must have brought it upstairs and put it in the "junk room", but I don't remember doing that. But then, things were in an uproar then and my intent was to just get things that were salvageable out of the basement. I was just happy to have found it.

Funny, but I remember bringing up the large box that has Christmas cards in it...

It’s Black Friday in Canada, although we’ve had BF sales for at least three weeks. You wouldn’t think anyone had read a flyer in all that time. Everybody had to purchase things today. The grocery store was packed. None of this was BF sales. I needed milk and the basics and got out of there.

Now having criticized these folks, I want to go check out a clearance item at another store. Darn. Why didn’t I see this days ago. I wasn’t seriously looking for air fryer and clearance appeals to me.

As long as your whispered involuntary patient and the vet are fine - you can handle the rest.

First batch of Christmas cookies is done and was deemed edible by my permanent room mate.
Bread for crumbs for chicken cutlets is cooling.
Mumsy called about a knitting project. How to take a perfect ball of yarn and make a lot of knots with it as far as I am concerned.
3:00 am fur all decided to share her dinner. Sheets, bedding, furniture, floor. All is clean as can be.
I need a cocktail or two!

Today is gray and chilly (not bitterly cold, but just enough to need gloves) but there was a great turnout for the weekly old people hike, no doubt we all had extra calories we need to burn off.

The only online Black Friday shopping I've done was a pair of gloves.

Now I need to go over to the next building and feed/water/poop-scoop a pair of invisible cats whose owner is away.

When I woke up today I had plans for cleaning and laundering, but I think instead I'll watch holiday movies and eat unhealthy holiday food. :D

I'm glad your new vacuum s doing well!

I found a new use for the nicer old Christmas cards I've saved.
You know those wood blocks they paint on with little sayings? To decorate with?
I cut the front of the card off and attach it to a block of the same size. Good thing is you can find these blocks on clearance tables etc. They can be ugly because I am going to turn them into beautiful pictures to place in groupings. They are already painted on the sides.
I did one in the spring from a card with cute birds on it that I loved.

My wife has this week off from work. Besides preparing our Thanksgiving dinner, she also enjoys canning (here cranberries.)

My younger wife is getting serious about retiring from work next year. As retirement present, I am buying her the new car she wants (right now she is still driving her 2010 Honda Fit with 134,000 miles on it.) She wants a red Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid. Both Costco and the AAA Auto Club have programs that give you discounts at dealers, like saving $2,200 buying from an AAA arranged dealer. Other dealers willI match that discount. I am spending hours on the telephone and online because no one has the red color she wants.
I knew it ! You're a great guy, husband and father. I hope you and your family had a very enjoyable Thanksgiving.

We're at 24 F right now. I went out to check my solar Christmas lights. Sure enough, I need to make a few adjustments to how they are strung. Too cold to fiddle with it now though. I'm not acclimated yet.

Working fine but we had meager light today so they probably won't run very late. My year-round ground level white lights out there are very dim already. Par for the course.

Maggiecat let me sleep late. Good kitty!🐈‍⬛

We had a hard frost last night. Goodbye garden.😟 The only flowers left are the cool-weather ones, snapdragons, dianthus and blooms on the camellia. But would you believe that the daffodils are already popping through the dirt?

DS2 died 21 years ago today.😢
