Health Care CEO murdered in NYC in a targeted attack

This may have been covered before. I haven't read all the previous posts. What is the affiliation between United Healthcare and AARP?

I think this might just be the beginning.

When the masses are starving, they'll go to the Zuckerberg, Bezos, and Musk mansions with pitchforks.
You might laugh at this comment but if you don't know your history, you might want to study what happened at the start of the French Revolution, the Russian Revolution and The Chinese Rebellion; just to mention a few. Then you'll find out that Beezer knows what he is talking about.

“This apprehension is thanks to the tireless work of the greatest detectives in the world and, of course, the strong relationships we have with our local law enforcement partners on every level, local, state and federal” Tisch said.

What???

The suspect was at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania and was recognized by an employee who then called local police.

I hope this employee gets the 50K the Feds have offered and the 10k offered by the NYPD, without whom there would be no apprehension.

I’m sure they will as the money was a huge factor in the solving of this case. That’s probably was why the employee called the police.

The newest theory is that he hired someone to kill him so his family would collect the life insurance. Seems far fetched to me.
I went down the road that the wife is living in a different house because it is "cheaper to keep her" theory well off men (or women) can function on and she got angry that he has a new lady friend. Who knows, am speculating, writing a book in my mind...and a pre-nup. The wanted guy is a hit man lover. ;) :love:

Suspect is 26 year old Luigi Mangione, UPenn grad, valedictorian of $40,000/year prep school before that. Had a handwritten manifesto on his person. Supposedly had a relative negatively impacted by the medical system. Other online comments by him are anti-captalist and critical of US healthcare.

A pampered rich kid with a Master's in Computer Science from Penn U. As I predicted on day one, he thought he was smarter than the police. A lowly wage slave at a McDonalds in rural Altoona, PA was his downfall. I sure hope that McDonald's employee gets the reward offered for the arrest of this vile human. He had a hand written political manifesto on his person, when he was arrested. He quoted the Unabomber as one of his inspiring heroes. Imagine that, for screwed up logic. Obituaries indicate that both of his Grand Parents died a few years ago, so maybe that was his "motive for murder " of a man who he didn't know on the street in NYC. JIM.

Doesn't look like he cared about getting caught. He knows his pic was all over the place and was making no attempt to hide out. Probably even wanted to get caught to get the manifesto out there.

Definitely rich on rich crime though. Mangione's background is much more privileged than Thompson's early years.

United healthcare denied coverage for pain meds for the husband of a friend of mine, as he was dying from lung cancer.
Likely because a lung cancer patient will die from pain meds; yes, I know he will die from lung cancer anyway...but they cannot prescribe something that can kill him via stopping breathing, especially with lung cancer issues.

Alcohol works as well for pain, and costs less.

I didn't wish anyone to die @CooCooforCoCoPuffs. I meant I don't give a shit what happens to them, good or bad. UBER RICH, not good old regular rich.

I understand the bible very well, thanks.
You sound so bitter (who or what has caused you to be this way?) and jealous (envy) of people who have money. What a sad existence I feel coming from you. Being jealous of anyone is just sad. Venom and hate is an exhausting past time.

Insurance cannot prescribe. Doctors prescribe for their individual patients. Your last remark is snarky. My father died of lung cancer. It would have been impossible, a great feat! for a patient in his condition.

What??? Pain medication is routinely given to Cancer patients on hospice.

I knew from the start I didn't like you. You may put me on ignore. Thank you.

"Rich" is relative to one's own world view and experiences.
When I think of wealthy people, I think of such things as

1) WOW...look at ALL those taxes they pay in to the government (in the States it is nearly ALWAYS at least 50% of one's income when over 1.5 million or so;
2) WOW, they must have people bugging the crap out of them to donate or give money...to them;
3) WOW...I bet they have to pay body guards, financial accountants, tax accountants, lawyers...on and on and on...
4) WOW...when they die their relatives will be fighting over their money and forget mourning them at all!
5) WOW... LOOK how much they contribute to non-profits (or FOUND non-profits...).

I don't envy (or think anyone is privileged in this world) the wealthy at all.
I want just enough money so I don't have to worry about a roof over my head; food even isn't much of an issue the older I get! The MORE money you have the MORE everyone wants it from you, and the less people enjoy you for who you are is how I see it.

BS. Palliative care for end-stage CA prioritizes comfort regardless of medication side effects.
