What have you bought recently?

I never buy anything except food and the occasional tank of gas, and a book when I can't find it at the library. My wife, on the other hand, buys haircuts, facials, clothes, vitamins, clothes, flowers, gifts for friends, clothes, little things for the house, clothes, and clothes. And also shoes. And clothes.

that's the reason you never buy anything, because your wife buys it for you....:D

I spent $70+ in real money at Walmart, most for things I needed and $15 of it for a sofa pillow that DD really wanted. She could have waited for it until she had a little extra $$ to spare, but there was only one. Here's hoping all the cats over there don't decide to appropriate it ;)

Now I'm gonna put the brakes on spending until payday next Wednesday.

Today I paid £400..+ , for 4 new tyres , and a brake hose repair..... and £30 for the MOT test.....

Then £90 on groceries in 2 supermarkets... M&S and Tesco....

In M&S I also got a new white blouse.. and a some emerald green joggers..which cost £40...

Then £30 in Fuel for the car

My wallet is begging for mercy....😩
Thank you for keeping our economy going @hollydolly :) I ordered some socks and pj's online. All sale price so, a poor effort really but, I will aim to do better next week when I hope to be out and about again ;)

I ordered a pair of sandals from Amazon. Spur of the moment because they were on sale and my size. Really, you can sell me almost any footwear if it’s my size, because it’s hard to find. I draw the line at stilettos.
They’re going back. They were listed at 4 - 4.5. Actually a 5 so are too big. I’m so disappointed.

You are not by any chance related to SO?

LOL...I only made a tiny contribution to the economy today...paid £3.70 for the hospital parking...and £5..for a coffee at the hospital cafe.

I picked up two books at Walmart the other day: She's Not Sorry by Mary Kubica and The Party by Natasha Preston. Now when I'm online, ads pop up for those two exact same books. It creeps me out. How would Chrome know what I bought with my debit card? Actually, I'm not sure I want to know. I've tried to avoid tracking as best I can, but my efforts never seem to suffice.

P.S. I use Chrome as a lazy default; I've been using DuckDuckGo more and more often lately. But still, my purchases and online activity seem to be tracked.

That is creepy. I'm thinking about switching back to cash.

£5 for a cup of coffee!

I hope the checks went well today. :)
yes the checks went well, thank you... (y) yes I know *sigh* £5 for the coffee, they have us by the short and curlies .. the hospital only has one place to get a hot drink..the hospital itself isn't near anything.. no shops.no cafes..no pubs ....nothing..so they can charge what they like really...

I didn't get a job, more's the pity. @StarSong a week from tomorrow is the 15th, the 3rd Wednesday of the month. We still get paid the 3rd Wednesday...and this time we get our walloping 2.5% increase. Yanno, to keep up with inflation.

My brother was here for five days - he lives ten hours further north.

That means I bought:

A new garage door opener to replace the two year old POS that stopped working.. Bought a Genie Door this time so it should last longer than two years.

New wiring, connectors, and snaps to fix the wires some SOB mouse or chipmunk chewed on the F-150. Fixing that took him an entire day. Had I taken the truck to the dealership, it would still be sitting there for who knows how long, provided they could even figure out why the engine was throwing codes.

Injector gunk and motor gunk to run through the farm tractor and my Saturn.

My brother is genius, but he still insists that, many years ago, he let off the gas when we lined up his Turisimo against my Tempo and I beat him. He claims the Turisimo was drifting toward me so he let off the gas. ❤️😇❤️😇

He had to drive bottom-to-top through Kentucky, then through Cincinnati, the metro from h-e-l-l when it comes to driving through it.. He left at 3:00 AM, hoping the roads were clean and everyone who worked was still asleep. He made it home by 1:00 PM, so the interstates were clear.

On the plus side my neighbor made a rum cake for my brother and yowza, two pieces of that would have got us each a DUI🤠👍🤠👍. I managed to send half of it home for my SIL, but it was tough letting go of that container😂😂
