How many Casinos are there in your State?

One …..that I know of in SA , it used to be in the huge city railway station buildings ..but just recently there has been a new one built next to the old one

No time for them. Even have to listen to online betting during commercials of Pro football games.
This has to be outlawed. Gambling is just a House's Odds SCAMMING SCHEME OF COURSE FOREVER & AGAIN.
Mafia is legal now. ( NOT! )

There are only 4 casinos operating in Australia but there are over 1,400 registered clubs in NSW alone, employing over 43,000 people in full and part-time positions. Over 43,000 volunteers were involved in registered clubs, contributing 6.3 million hours in 2007.

All of the registered clubs and also the hotels have legalised gambling in the form of poker machines and lotto. New South Wales leads the country with 100,500 gaming machines which are located in clubs, hotels and the Star Casino in Sydney.

It amazes me that they even have electronic penny slot machines for tight fisted gamblers on a budget. 🎰
Many of those penny slot machines can be played from 1 cent to 10 dollars. Not unusual to wager 88 cents & get a payout of several hundred dollars.

Not sure, I think that there are 21, 16 owned and operated by Native American tribes.

We also have Racinos, online sports betting, state sponsored lotteries, etc…

I’ve never been to a casino and probably should
make the effort to see what they are all about.

"Penny" is a misleading term inasmuch as the minimum bet is usually 1 cent times the combination of rows and columns bet

and "penny" machines usually offer the options to bet "nickles, dimes, etc

I have seen where betting "max" on a "penny" machine meant betting five DOLLARS

I have been in three casinos, you aren't missing much IMHO. I do not gamble at all.

One the "Mandalay Bay" Casino and Resort in Las Vegas, was an emergency stop. My mother had passed away in nearby Lake Havasu City, AZ back in 2008. So I stopped over and stayed in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, as they had a really nice price on their high rise rooms which overlook the city lights, and a deep bath tub to hot soak away my sorrows re: my mom. Plus this resort had a nice shuttle from the Las Vegas airport to the resort for free.

Have also stayed at the Luxor Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, my ex husband wanted me to "see and experience it". Back in the 90s it was truly beautiful, an pyramid and Egyptian decor..gold and black, lovely. There is underground that connects the Mandalay Bay with The Luxor casinos, too. Shopping underground...nice high end things.

Las Vegas is SO replete with gambling culture there are even slot machines in the AIRPORT! Would not be surprised if there were gambling machines in gas station restrooms in Vegas.

We also visited Biloxi, MS smaller casino, with ex husband; it was more low key by far, no comparison with Las Vegas on size of casinos.

My general impression of CASINOs (not that you asked..am just writing...)

The casinos had way too many flashy, moving lights, too many loud sounds and commotion, too many people drinking and whooping it up for me (an not a whooper upper), and too many people blowing money, getting themselves into the money pit. Too many cameras watching everyone because so much money is involved.

There used to be loads of SMOKERS INside the casinos - felt like the places attracted types that smoked (?) but now I think most smokers stand outside smoking these days, I do not know...about now days.

The whole casino idea and environment seems 'seedy' to me; throwing away money as entertainment is not my thing?
Stockmarket is my thing, when it comes to money, I prefer investing it intelligently.
But that is just me, others may LOVE that sort of thing.

Ex also took me to a Las Vegas type show...nearly naked women dancing. Made me very uncomfortable. Hence, with ex taking me to casinos, which isn't my thing, and taking me to naked women dancing shows.

Little surprise we divorced 12 years ago after 28 years of marriage! He wasn't MY thing, either, gambling and looking at naked women weren't his ONLY nasty habits.

In Mississippi we have about 30 casinos. All of them are located either on the Gulf Coast or along the Mississippi River. There may be an Indian casino inland. Not sure about that.

I had to google the answer. Tennessee does not have any casinos..

”The basics of Tennessee's relatively restrictive gambling laws, which prohibit casinos but allow betting on licensed horse racing facilities and some gambling done for charitable reasons.”

We do have the state lottery, charitable gambling is allowed whatever that means, and some form of horse racing. Since I don’t gamble, I have no idea.

One in Alaska. Soon to be two, I understand.
Alaska seems like the ideal location for casinos. Lots of people working long hours without enough places to spend the big money. On site poker games were really common in the work camps in northern Canada. Big money available to make and lose

I can think of 4 casinos. All Indian owned. We have 2 fairly large ones located about 30-45 mins from town.
Chuckchansi and Table Mountain. I've gambled and eaten at both.
Then there are 2 smaller ones close by also.
