I found this video online showing the development of a flower a a leaf. Each leaf looks like an exotic palm tree at least in size.

I always think of Africa he mentions they get some plants from ,…. but I always think of Africa as a desert
So it must have some really lush area , I believe some begonias come from SA as well

We had a very hot day yesterday and it’s going to be hot again today so tomorrow I’ll be canning peaches again

What about a simple snapdragon , due to my horrible limestone soil I’ve got allot growing in pots
I planted these in the same pot I’ve got bankisia roses planted in ( only planted Roses .last winter )

This is called an oyster flower, oyster plant, boatlily or Moses-in-the-cradle, among other names. It is Category II invasive. I took this pic in FL, where it seemed to be growing wild. Someone may have planted it in the past because they are grown as ornamentals.
