What News Shows Are You Watching? What Was One of the Topics?

I don't always enjoy some of the News shows but watched a very good and informative one this morning. They were talking about spy's from China. It was on CBS Roundup very early.

So what are you watching?

I watch a few and don’t really care for any of them.

It makes me crazy when news programs constantly run file footage or repeat the same news clips on several programs throughout the day.

Lately, I’ve been watching The National News Desk along with various programs on ABC, PBS, and Fox.

Don’t assume that I agree with or believe everything that I see and hear or try to explain how awful you think that my choices may be.
😉🤭😂

The first part of your first sentence: "I don't always enjoy some of the News shows," resonated with me. Following the assassination of JFK the world press went into overdrive, discovering that he was a notorious philanderer. And even after 61 years since his life was cut short, the world press are still fascinated by his life, looking to see what else can be mined about his sex life.

Since then newspapers and television news reporting created the impression that to be a responsible adult I must check the news frequently or it would suggest immature ignorance on my part. I understand that “big news will find me” which is fair, I just don’t like putting all of my faith in others to provide their version of another persons version of events.

In other words, since November 1963 the news has passed me by.

I usually watch GBNews. They have in depth discussions on subjects which the other news channels tend to avoid. It also allows people to e-mail the studio with their views, something else which doesn't happen elsewhere.

I can understand that

I watch the local news every morning while eating breakfast...mostly to see what the days weather will be. I also watch ABC evening news to see what kind of nonsense today brought. If I'm staying indoors, and on the computer, I flip through various news channels, online. One thing remains consistent...more time is spent on commercials than the news.

..and every day does bring nonsense . Do you listen to music 🎵 🎶 Might be better off with some music rather than the news.. That's what I'm doing

CBC, SKY, Reuters, GBN News, Global News, HNK, Aljazeera, CGTN, DW, France24, Press TV, RT News and my local news. I might watch the 90 second teaser on ABC News once a week. Never U.S. cable news. I dumped them years ago. Only watching cable and network news, you'll miss 85% what's happening in the world.

We haven't had broadcast television for years. I have a few web sites that I quickly scan each day for local/state/national/international highlights and then independently research anything that might be of intere

I'm getting ready to rescan my antenna and take ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox off my channel list and my Roku channels.

My favorite news program is World News Tonight With David Muir. They cover the major stories without much "opinion commentary". When streaming it's a 21 minute program, so the stories are abbreviated. If I want a more detailed account, I watch Good Morning America. What I love about WNT is that at the end of each and every broadcast, they feature heartwarming and/or inspiring stories under America Strong and Person(s) of the Week. Sometimes it's seniors, sometimes it's children, but the stories are always about remarkable deeds, often by ordinary folks in all age ranges.

It doesn't hurt that I absolutely love David Muir, who is only there on weekdays. I call him "my David". :D But I've come to like the weekend anchors Whit Johnson and Lindsay Davis too. For other news I read news apps on my phone or tablet, each of which features news from several sources. I also read 1440 news, which is allegedly non biased. I get that via email.
