Where does God live?

Clearly, my reading and yours picked up different messages. I don't go along with the omnipresent, omnipotent and all knowing representation of God. I long ago moved past the white bearded man in the clouds. To grow in faith we must do a lot of letting go of our childish ideas and other ideas we pick up along the way.

As to suffering, you only have to read Huxley's Brave New World to begin to realise that a world without suffering is not paradise - it is dystopian, and unfit for homo sapiens. Pain and suffering both have purpose and function in life. The dead experience neither.
I get your take on the story, except it wasn't the point of the story. Whether true or an allegory, the story was about God proving something to Satan, and that was that no matter what blessings Job had in life, he was still a good and faithful servant. It wasn't to convey to Job that he must undergo pain and suffering to appreciate the things God had given him.

As for paradise (Assuming it could exist), I think there is a distinction between lasting happiness and appreciation of happiness. It begs the question, can you have happiness without overcoming adversity. Which may be a question we could never know the answer to, since it has never happened in the course of civilization, or perhaps more to the point, how could you recognize happiness if you never had anything to compare it to. That being said, I can appreciate life without having to die first, so who knows.

I suppose to properly address the point here, one would have to first be able to agree on what paradise would be to humans, and then agree on what happiness might mean. To me, happiness doesn't just exist or not, it is in degrees, and perhaps paradise works the same way. Until we can put an end to wanting, we would only live in a partial paradise.

and happiness and paradise mean a million different things to different people - compare for example rating for example of North Koreans compared to South Koreans? and they're on the same land mass!!

What? Never heard that one before......
:) I don't know, I was taught or read in the bible that Christ was no different than the rest of us until John the Baptist baptized Him. That is when the Holy Spirit descended upon Him and He remembered that He was Michael, who sat on the right-hand side of God.

How does this version deal with The Annunciation of Mary? Of the virgin birth, the 3 Wise Guys? etc. Do these just foreshadow what occurred at the Baptism?

Surely the birth is a big deal?

This is the first time I have heard of Michael being Jesus too. Apparently it was taken as truth by many a believer at one time, and probably still has power.

Jesus as Michael the Archangel

The belief that Jesus Christ is Michael the Archangel in heaven is held by some religious groups, particularly Jehovah's Witnesses and some Seventh-day Adventists. Jehovah's Witnesses state that Michael is another name for Jesus in his pre-human and post-resurrection existence, citing Jude 9 and 1 Thessalonians 4:16 as evidence.123 Seventh-day Adventists also view Michael as a title for the pre-existent Christ, believing he was the "eternal Word" and the one through whom all things were created.13
However, many Protestant theologians and Christian denominations do not equate Jesus with Michael the Archangel. They view Michael as a distinct angelic being and do not see biblical evidence to support the idea that Jesus is Michael.45
In summary, while some religious groups identify Jesus as Michael the Archangel in heaven, this is not a widely accepted view among Christians in general.

GotQuestions is a site that I've found to be very helpful. They are "protestant", in a generalized sense of theology, and really good if folks are truly interested in understanding the God of the bible... other beliefs and theological questions are discussed as well.

Have you ever felt fairly happy and had what you thought at the time is a great idear!
Thus chaos be-felled you!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. --John 3:16

His only begotten son, Michael.

I'm a Lutheran.

I would like to think it only matters where you come from.
It appears there were many with the same name also.
What one comes to believe as they grow up, become of age?
Catholic spelled his name with an ( i ) Iesus.

Yesus, Jacob and Joshua are mentioned frequently.

Think schools way back when in Israel were more like apprenticeships.
Family business type training.

My friends daughter got married on the farm in a barn.
Many youth do not get married. They live decent lives.

We got married in the front yard, friends and neighbors sitting on chairs on the lawn.
Young people fed the Lawn fire pit. It's been a Firey marriage. ... :ROFLMAO: ...

This Is What Jesus' Friends And Family Actually Called Him — And No, It Wasn't Jesus

I can suppose Jack for John, Bob for Robert, William for bill, Butch for SOB. Bucky for Fisherman. Jack Bucky, Bob Bucky, Butch Bucky !
