There is absolutely no scientific evidence that any deity exists. And without a deity, there can be no creationism. Creationists cite "faith" as evidence of a deity. Faith is defined as a belief without an evidential basis.Discuss to your heart‘s desire but i think it is a waste of time. Believers on the other hand may beg to differ because they are programmed by faith.
there is one with 9 pages... Evolution vs creationism
Lol, that's actually 2017, don't think this forum is 108 years old. That said, I doubt there's any new arguments to bring, in an1917? Why would that old thread be interesting to anyone today? As good as the threads may be they are not the authority that a book might be. If I want information, I read books. If I want to participate in the discovery of information through the interaction of others, I came to the forum.
In the past I have tried picking up old threads and that has not worked well for me.
Why would that be? Is he talking about the God who walked with Adam and Eve and made them of mud? Does his belief in God include a belief in Satan, angels and demons? I can not imagine how science would support the God of Abraham mythology. Einstein was not always correct and certainly the quote is meaningless without knowing what he meant by God.Albert Einstein, who said "The more I study science, the more I believe in God."
Is it the bible that defines God for you, or science? If you are relying on science, what scientific concepts define a God?Lol, that's actually 2017, don't think this forum is 108 years old. That said, I doubt there's any new arguments to bring, in an
"Evolution versus Creationism" debate, at least in presenting ideological perspectives.
I find the Einstein comment very unifying and true: "The more I study science, the more I believe in God."
Many species, no male - clone females that can't begat. Looks like the Human species will clone Ai ! Were done for!the whole planet is made male and female - haven't you noticed?
Not only.the whole planet is made male and female - haven't you noticed?
In a way, I see the same thing in this forum, not the 50/50 thing, but for a group of seniors, the numbers of unbelievers seems unusually high, higher than other forums where the age of participants is not skewed toward the elderly. Aren't we suppose to suddenly believe in Jesus as the end of life approaches?Completely unscientific, but one of the most hotly contested debates at my town’s senior citizens center is over the presence or absence of God and of Heaven and Hell and it’s practically 50/50.
Especially if the scientiest were from medieval times. You believed in god, OR ELSE. Those scientists should not be on any modern list of scientists who are believers. So listing a bunch of scientists that believe in gods, doesn't mean anything at all. Beliefs are a dime a dozen. Convincing evidence is worth more than that.
I didn't even take that into account. Not only were their lives and livelihoods under the thumb of the church , they were dealing with a knowledge base infinitely smaller than what is available today, and the philosophy of logic was still in it's infancy.Especially if the scientiest were from medieval times. You believed in god, OR ELSE. Those scientists should not be on any modern list of scientists who are believers.
It never takes you long to insult believers based on your own very limited experience with one fundamentalist church.Discuss to your heart‘s desire but i think it is a waste of time. Believers on the other hand may beg to differ because they are programmed by faith.
Going by the above, there go all the graves. Might as well be cremated since it looks like bodies will be washed out and spread around all over the place anyway. It's sort of obvious that a decent diet, good vaccinations of deadly diseases and most all species evolve bigger and stronger as the
ensuing generations continue to be born. Of course, Chaos, famines, deadly things like Volcanic eruptions, Hurricanes, Floods, deadly
disease can play havoc, create chaos and do much harm. Ya get no free pass that I can think of. Pray all you want. It's your thing.
But leave, move to higher ground in these next 30 years or buy boats by the millions most likely. Most likely most all living on islands,
South Florida, Keys, Texas, New Orleans all along the coast and major rivers will be breathing compressed air from a tank by 2070 give or take
25 years or so. No promise just a thoughts of observed high tide crests. 5% of the USA is wetlands now.
But if you consider high tides in the north you see incredible heights so they are not out of the flood by a100 feet. One can easily imagine
Tides rushing in 20 / 30 miles every day. Wetland square miles by the X's 1000. So one can imagine half of his state under water if it is
a coastline state to the Oceans. Then most all river valleys under water and noon on July 4th. So one needs to live at least 150 feet above
The River valley flood line today in the not-so-distant future as the Ice melts like noon showdown in Arizona.
Only a shift in the Earths orbit can change what's coming. Then an ice age most likely quickly. Probably everyone has watched film of
The Glaciers calving Icebergs. It has only sped up in the last 75 years or since we were kids watching them from a charter boat or TV.
I'm with you Vida May. Most forums delete a thread if it's not posted on for a year. Here I get caught reading and adding to threads that are ten years old. I get startled when I think someone has come back to life!1917? Why would that old thread be interesting to anyone today? As good as the threads may be they are not the authority that a book might be. If I want information, I read books. If I want to participate in the discovery of information through the interaction of others, I came to the forum.

Well, technically they are not, and least from a scientific perspective. Science as it is ignores the supernatural. Science is just an extension of the philosophy of logic. It discovers things through that process, and much of that process is offensive to believers in the supernatural. Science is not at odds with Christianity. I doesn't support it because it can't. But that is not the fault of science. There never has been any reason for Christianity and science to be at odds.
