What have you bought recently?

I never said that.

In any case, Costco is a responsible employer who stands up to the bullies. I have no moral conflicts about shopping there.

As for WM, I hold my nose when ordering from them, but my little independent grocers don't carry everything I need. Sometimes it's a matter of choosing the lesser evil. DH needed some meds that Costco doesn't carry, so I rounded out the order with foodstuffs that my grocer & Costco don't carry.

I figure, better WM than AMZ, Target, and big chain pharmacies, even if only marginally so. (No independent pharmacies nearby.)
My post was pretty stupid -- I apologize. Not having a good week at all.

DD wanted to go to the garden center this morning when we went out actually to go to the post office . I went along, of course, because I was captive but flat refused to buy anything. Not. One. Thing.

There were geraniums. I got three. DD paid. :)

I don't think I told you that I got this vase... it looks small in this picture from the internet,,but in fact it's a good 20 inches high, and heavy enough to have to use 2 hands when carrying it, so quite a substantial piece...

it's actually Navy blue stripes and not black, which matches in with my new Navy Blue velvet armchair

I bought an electric can opener. I've been experiencing terrible pain in my hands w/this new arthritis medication I'm taking. Now, that it's tapering off, the pain is subsiding.
But, I'll give this little machine a whirl as needed. Or, until I replace this medication.
I know what you mean. I just cannot seem to find a decent can opener. So until further notice it is still the trusted P38.

I bought toy farm animals for a centerpiece, my daughter asked me to make. The theme is a mix of farming and rainbows. I don't know what the finished center piece will look like. It depends on the size of the animals and what I find.

I picked up some charcoal and fluid in case the storm is as awful as they are predicting. Also snacks and drinks and some of those little tuna salads that do not need refrigeration. And oh yes, extra wine. I know I am forgetting something.
hunker down, hopefully it will come to nothing much but a girl guide is always prepared.. (y)..if you ever come and visit me Babs.. then you can live in my barn, there's enough food , and drink, and heating in that barn that would last someone easily 6 months.....I'm a little prepper..lol

Thanks, HD. Your barn sounds great!

That sounds like fun. I hope you will share the results with us. A small branch or twig can make a nice tree for the animals to gather round.

Hope you and all your friends/neighbors survived today's storms. I just read that there have been 18 deaths due to the storms. I will keep you in my prayers.

Thanks, Buckeye. We are expecting the worst to be overnight starting at about 8 PM.

You and me both, HD! The meals might get "interesting" after a while, but one could be sustained for quite a while consuming only the food and drinks in my garage pantry, freezer, refrigerator and kegerator.

precisely that..I have.. like you.. a whole store of canned and packet goods... as well as a tall larder freezer full of food....much of it already batch cooked ...there's also chill boxes with non alcoholic drinks in them...

There's electricity in the barn .. so things could be cooked.. water could be heated... there's lighting and an electric radiator... there's even a dehumidifier

there's even party ( plastic and wooden ) cutlery up there... as well as Big packs of loo rolls , & kitchen paper.. .. it's be plenty fine for anyone to live in for a good while...I'm thinking now.. maybe I should rent it out. :ROFLMAO:
