Am I The Only One Who Doesn't........?

1. used to entertain some, haven't done it in years. Too old now.
2. love BBQ food, in a restaurant or home cooked. When my kids were in high school, we kept a grill on the back deck, and were known to shovel a path thru the snow on the deck to use the grill.
3. never been in a hot tub. The idea of "social bathing" never appealed to me. I have had several jetted bathtubs, which can be very soothing.
4. I believe lime green is an ugly color on anybody or anything.

I love throwing parties with 25-40 guests so DH & I host several over the holidays plus a couple during the year. My immediate and extended family enjoyed entertaining so I come by this honestly. Several of my cousins and sisters likewise have the entertaining bug.

That said, I find dinner parties a complete yawn to host or attend.

BBQ - the food and the process - were never really my thing. I can't remember the last time DH fired up our BBQ, but it's been years. (We stopped eating meat 11 years ago and gave up on veggie burgers a couple of years after that.)

Hot tubs, saunas, etc. have never appealed to me. The temperatures put me off - I don't even care for hot showers.

I like Jane Austen's works but not fanatically so.

1. No to entertaining these days.
2. Big yes to BBQ, especially Texan style BBQ but only if eating out.
3. No to hot tubs

I never read any Jane Austin books but I did enjoy reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies which was a take on Pride and Prejudice but also included zombies ! It was written in the style of a Jane Austin book so that has to count for something 🤔.

@OneEyedDiva "Am I The Only One Who Doesn't Like barbequed food?"

Yep! :ROFLMAO:

something is coming up on PBS in May. "Miss Jane" or something like it. Seems to be a series. Excuse my lack of details. Anyone else know??
It’s already been on the BBC here. It’s about Cassandra Austen, Jane’s sister. It’s an adaptation of a novel by Gill Hornby, set in the time after Jane’s death when Cassandra returns to Kintbury, the home of the Fowle family, before the daughter is forced to leave, not having inherited, to retrieve Jane’s letters. She rereads the letters causing her to reminisce about their lives

I’ve read all her novels, many times, my favourite is Persuasion.

I used to barbecue but not since moving to Florida, where it is too hot to do in the summer. It is too hard to do anyway for me. We only have a few friends over now and it is just for a few hours with cake and coffee. Two are our adopted son and daughter. Others are work friends.

In the fair seasons, we like to barbecue Sockeye salmon... Adds a special dimension to fresh, marinated fish.
Entertain? There are a couple meanings of that word. Diva, you're a fine musician who composes her own tracks. Surely you like to... 😉
My son bought a can of sockeye salmon and it's waiting for him to make salmon salad with it. And I have no one to (ahem) "entertain" anymore. Not looking for anyone either. Thank you for the compliment on my musical talents❣️

Of those choices, the only one I do like is barbecue. I've never been in a hot tub and have no desire to do so, and entertaining is fine as long as it's a small group of people, now that I'm living in a small(ish) condo. But I'd rather get together with friends without the "entertaining" part.

I don't remember ever reading any of Jane Austen's books, though I've seen a movie or two.

~ I used to love entertaining, but now that I'm older, not so much.

~ I love barbecue but will indulge only at home because it's so messy!

~ Hot tubs: no opinion. I can take them or leave them. I leave public ones alone.

My wife loved to entertain. We'd host game night and play board games.
She was a radical Jane Austin fan.
I enjoy GOOD BBQ especially KC type
Had a hot tub for about ten years and loved it. I'd get in it with a bowl of Cheerios, eat it and then stretch. Great way to start the day. Enjoyed it at night too. Nice way to unwind at day's end.
How many of your remember Niles Crane referring to the hot tub in his apartment complex as a "six man Petrie dish" as only he could do?
