What have you bought recently?

I beg to differ, I have my nails professionally manicured on a regular basis, and have them painted always with a shellac type of varnish, I can very much do D-I-Y and Gardening .. and have no damge to my nials.. in the garden gloves are the answer...
Its probably just me. I do wear gloves when I work in the flower beds
Today I still managed to break off a few finger nails and get mud on my butt and in my hair. :D

Thanks for the reminder about capris--I used to wear them a lot, but I haven't seen them in stores lately. Maybe they're out of fashion? As if I care! I'll check out the Goodwill store near me.
Capris are still out there. I see them when I shop for regular pants. I just buy my "short" pants at Goodwill.
I dont care whats in fashion. I buy what fits me.

I forgot about cropped pants. I did a quick search and found these. They have a 26 inch inseam if that helps.

I haven’t bought anything but necessities lately. I am very wary of spending money with all that is going on.
Same. Exception: I'm forward buying Chinese manufactured items I expect to need within the next year, if their prices have remained the same as 2024 due to retailers stocking up before the tariffs hit.

I'm referring to things like small kitchen appliances.

I spent $21.20 including tax on five marked down ice plants at the garden center. They were on the Clarence shelves and really wanted a home. I rescued them for certain death and have no idea what color the flowers will be. Mostly what I've seen in the center have been purple so these probably will be, too. Stand by.

DD, DGD and I went to Aldi where I was going to buy a whiskey barrel planter for $10. DGD grabbed it from me and paid for it. I'm not proud. I take charity :). It's big, really big, so I put a bunch of empty water bottles and some pine cones in it before putting the dirt in but still didn't have quite enough potting soil.

DD has to go to Sam's Club in the morning so she's going to get more potting soil. It's about $2 less for a 25 qt sack there than in the garden center.

I love the idea of putting a bunch of (useable) throw away stuff in the bottoms of the containers. I was able to use a bunch of leaves I had piled up in my yard. What a savings on the potting soil. (y)

Another trip to the Bay since I was nearby. Thought I should check that they had lots of those boy’s socks. The rack had been full. One pack of my size left, so I bought them. There‘s a light taupe shirt that they didn’t carry in a petite a few days ago. There on a clearance rack they had several of them for $8 - 40%. For $5 each, I bought 3. Spent less than $20.

The bad news of all this is that I should pop in everyday just in case they put out something else I might want.

Stopped in at Walmart neighborhood Market for stocking final grocery supplies before my surgery. Bought for first time a $3.78 64 ounce bottle of Great Value Grape Juice (Concord) with no sugar added for $3.78 that is $2 less than Welch's. Tastes just as sweetly excellent. Also for $3.38 bought a 96 ounce bottle of the Great Value Apple Juice with no sugar added that I've been buying for awhile now.

I posted this already but I bought this '25 A5 back in March and I'm loving it. As a reminder, I had my last Audi for 9 years and someone in this forum posted about why we are hanging onto our money when we may be gone soon. This is the first time in years that I've had car payments but I feel like a youngin' again! This will most likely be my last car so it was worth it.

Went to Sam's Club yesterday. I bought an annual pass on sale for $25 because we needed two new (special and expensive) batteries for one of our trucks and SC sells them for less than anyone else. Plus a 3 year, no exclusions warranty AND free installation. The batteries are very heavy, so DH wasn't about to switch them out himself.

Two batteries - $443.00 out the door. While waiting for them to be installed we wandered through the store. Bought a few things, some were items I could have picked up at Costco for the same $, but this saved me a trip.
