How many times did you move as a child, and how did it affect you?
Then as an adult it was St. Johnsville, NY, Los Angeles, California, St. Johnsville, NY, Los Angeles, Hollywood, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Syracuse, NY, Jersey City, NJ, St. Johnsville, NY.Let's see. St. Johnsville, NY, Rochester, NY, West Henrietta, NY, Rochester, NY, Holly, NY, West Palm Beach, Florida, Juno Beach, Florida, Lake Park, Florida, Nelliston, NY, St. Johnsville, NY. Around 9 times or so.
How rude!! Teachers can be mean girls too. I would be glad to move too.At one time during my pre-teen years, we had a mobile home. It wasn't big, like many of todays "manufactured homes" - it was small, only one bedroom, which was for my parents, and I slept on the "living room" sofa that made into a bed. My father kept changing jobs, looking for a new job, etc., and times were hard, so we moved a lot.
It didn't really have much impact on me, except for once. My teacher was speaking about animals, turtles, etc., and in front of the class, she said something like, "Mack is much like a turtle, since he can just move along in his shell of a house." I cannot imagine a teacher today saying such a thing, It was very hurtful and other classmates laughed. Thankfully, we did in fact move not long after that, and I was GLAD to be away from that school.
