Having some severe rainy weather in the Texas Hill Country this afternoon… near Kerrville, Tx.

.. they have said that there are at least 13 deaths due to flooding so far. The rain came at an alarming rate.

They are now in the process of trying to locate girls at a camp site .. …20 girls missing. They are saying cabins have been washed away at the camp site..

I grew up a farm boy and a flash rain of buckets did that to lil creeks
I would jump across fishing, exploring or Frogged. They became 20' / 30'
deep 100-yard-wide flooded torrent zone for many hours.

It seems like wildfires or flooding is the weather report today.

Sure hope most made it to safety!

Devastating storm and results. Hopefully they can find more survivors. Said some could be stuck up a tree or something.

Some of the deceased were found in a car so that might not be the children.

Apparently the most serious flood wx warnings from the National Wx Service were overnight, and through the early morning hours which no doubt led to the large numbers of people rescued, killed, or still missing.

From midnight to 4am the river rose 22 feet, from 7 feet above flood stage to 29 feet above flood stage.

Tragic indeed! Gotta get some messages off to some of the relatives in Hill Country and see if all are safe. I have photos somewhere of me by the Guadalupe river as a kid. Heartbreaking.

Totally devastating. Last I checked (just a little while ago) the death toll is at 24 but at least 20 of the girls from the summer camp are still not accounted for.

It’s a popular camping area for many. Beautiful country.
My daughter’s family has taken their large travel trailer there a few times. … not this year though.
