Trumps tax plan trumped by fact check

Did you expect anything coming from Trump to make sense... Even a 3rd grader can figure that if you give EVERYONE a tax cut... and increase the Military.. the math doesn't add up.. Plus.. his plan is nothing more than a HUGE tax break for the Rich... like him. Cutting his tax from 39% to 25%... eliminating the Death tax which only benefits people inheriting more than $5million... who is this joker trying to kid.

Of course I knew that but you may be surprised how many ignorant voters don't know it. Bush's tax cut for the rich while starting wars was the major contributor to our debt. Brings to mind old Will Rogers who said "Don't tax you and don't tax me, tax that fella behind the tree."

Start off with pure BS. Now go back to Trumps talks on the taxes and little proof has been offered for sure. He is speaking of ways to make the tax set up better for all and eliminates so may places the rich can hide today. One of the mentioned steps was to change some wealthy tax loopholes and he end that comment with the comment that 'this action will cost me big money', or words to that effect. Why challenge a person on his offer to correct our current wrong type of tax set up where millionaires can hide their wealth in foreign countries. Obama's friend, the big GE manager person pays hardly any tax at all but is making millions of personal profits each year. Now there is a place you can go and find some real crime going on.

There are not enough loop holes existing to make up for the tax cuts he is promising... He is full of cow manure...

Obviously you did not listen to his talk at all. Our current tax setup is just one monster of loopholes for the wealthy. Trump is suggesting that our tax system can be changed to make it fairer to the unemployed, retired, working middle class, and tougher on the rich. How can that not be good for all of us.

And for right now it is all ideas, not plans, as the plans need to come from our Congress.

Ok Bob...Gotja. Have a nice day.

It sure looks like my pick for the Democrats is failing every day. I don't know much at all about the heavy on socialist that now out ranks her and if Biden signs on, she will be nothing at all. The Congressional hearing is about to start too. So that will be interesting for Hillary and others.

Ha... the Congressional hearing... like all the other attempts at a smear campaign, and like all the other hearings will fail.... And once again.,, Republicans will look stupid, just digging up anything they can because they are terrified of her... and they think this is the only way to beat her.. sad.. They know they cannot win on their ideas and policy.

If anyone is terrified it is Hillary as it appears she has made some pretty bad mistakes during her career. She better come out of the hearings clean or she will have a lot of explaining to do to gain any public trust back. Facts will be good or bad for the Hillary camp. Our wishes won't do her any good at all. I have been boosting Hillary as she is not as dangerous as Obama has been to this country. His 8.5 trillion new debt was not good for us today and will be a long time getting it all paid down. When Clinton was in there it was at a bit of a stall for the higher debts and hopefully going down. With Bush it went up a couple trillion but still less than 8 trillion. Then in Bush's last two year the Reid and Pelosi team put more than 2.5 trillion on to Bush's debt level. Now Obama has added all the rest. I wonder if our new speaker will have the courage to stop Obama or will Obama just let the government shut down again so he can blame the Congress for all the problems. Obama is a real tricky one to play with. His win is all he cares about. Nothing about Congress debating and deciding what is best. He sees only his ideas as being much better than the Congresses joined minds making decisions.

Temptation stand thee behind me.

Do my interpretations of Obama's ways bother you Jim? I just watch and as I see I can report too. He has done this game playing since he started. He would not have his Obama care had he not stayed late one night and pulling some reticent Democrats over to his side, one at a time. A simple election on a stated schedule just was not good enough for Obama. He plays to win. Any way he can.

Umm, Canuck asks, if President Obama is eviL incarnate (cue soulless-droning-chants-shrieks etc.) why is the country better off financially than it was under Bush? Re Congress: when it is controlled by L'il Abner's relatives, how can Potus work with them? What sane person wants their country run by Dogpatch? Eek!

How indeed Canuck? Good call....

It really was better under Bush than it has been since. Our debt was 18.5 trillion less under Bush. We still have many of those once employed still unemployed under the Obama plan. Many industries are still barely operating compared to 10 or so years back. Our housing industry in large parts of the US are now not doing well at all. Wages have lowered in many areas. We are now a very marginal economy and not near as vibrant as it once was.

Prior to Obama, during Bush's terms, the Democrats ran our financial and housing loans. That is why it all fell apart, not because of Bush who was not happy with the mess being pushed by Democrats in charge. Both just happened to leave at the same time Bush did. Sparing Obama the problems they were causing.

We really do need more jobs and better wages with lower prices to make it better. Won't happen now as our current government is wasting so much money and effort on things some folks love but they do not work very well for our safety and comfort. Windmills and solar panels are so far just dreams that need better designs and still won't do the jobs that our natural gas can provide.

So I have a question Bob... just out of curiosity... According to Trump's plan... no one making up to $50,000 a year is going to have to pay any income tax.. The Corporate tax rate is going to go down from 35% to 15% The top tax rate for wealthy individuals is going to drop from 39% to 25%.. and the estate tax eliminated...... with all those cuts...and decreased revenue... just WHAT do you suppose is going to happen to that national debt you are always so concerned about.. Do you really believe there are enough loopholes in the tax code to cover all that? OK.. I'll help you out... the National debt is going to go up..... WAAAAAAAYYYYYY up..

Now don't ask the hard questions Shalimar... Our Congress has a bunch of idiots in the majority.. It's up to the sane minority to save the country from these fools.

I read recently his tax "plan" was nothing but a con job, not surprising. More here.

Donald Trump unveiled a tax plan that is a massive con job. The plan doesn’t benefit the poor and middle class. Trump’s vision for taxes is a windfall for corporations and the wealthiest Americans.

Politico’s Danny Vinik summed up who the big winners are under Trump’s plan, “Who would be the winners of the Trump tax plan? The rich.

The top tax rate falling from 39.6 percent to 25 percent will give them a huge windfall, as will eliminating the AMT, the estate tax for their heirs, and the Obamacare surtax on capital gains and dividends. The huge cut in the corporate income tax will also benefit the well-off.

Even worse: Trump doesn’t say what we will do with the Earned Income Tax Credit, which is a financial lifeline for low-income Americans. Eliminating it would cause significant hardship for the poor—while also going against the current political agreement around the effectiveness of the EITC. (The campaign didn’t return an email asking for more information.)”

Trump’s plan, like every other Republican tax cut for the rich, blows a hole in the deficit to the tune of $2.3 trillion.
The Republican candidate claims that people earning less than $25,000 won’t pay any federal income taxes, but according to the IRS, 76% of people who are earning $25,000 or less already pay no federal income taxes.

In reality, Trump isn’t giving anything to people who earn $25,000 or less that they don’t already have. Eighty-three percent of people who earn less than $30,000 are already not paying federal income taxes.

Donald Trump is trying to disguise a plan that gives the rich a big tax break as having something for everyone. What Trump left out of his press conference is what he will do with the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).

The chart below shows that Trump’s plan would take money away from low and middle income people:
tax-2014-chart.jpg

In 2014, people earning up to $47,300 paid a net negative percentage in federal income taxes. By bringing them up to zero, as Trump proposes, his tax plan will be costing them money.

It is likely that Trump’s plan reduces the federal income tax rate to zero for lower income Americans, but also takes away their tax refunds. Trump’s plan would leave lower income workers with less money while giving the wealthy and corporations a wave of tax breaks.

In other words, Donald Trump has dressed up the same old failed Republican tax cuts for the rich in the disguise of lower tax rates for all.

The media is helping Trump con voters by running with headlines about raising taxes on the wealthy. However, Trump’s plan is designed to benefit the wealthy at the expense of everyone else.

Donald Trump’s “populist” tax plan helps the wealthy and corporations while giving little to everyone else. It’s a scam, and our lazy media is helping Trump fool hard working Americans.

You folks are really acting openly stupid about Trumps ideas to help the economy and get more money into the government to pay the bills.

First is that what you are calling Trumps tax plan is just his over view of what could be done to help things out. And you have that a bit mixed up also. Yes he did project cutting back on lots of things and mostly it seems you have not listened to all his speech either. I just looked at what is being shown on this computer stuff and it is not complete to what he spoke of in his tax speech. One big item he did speak of was the ability of some rich folks to make big piles of money overseas and not have to report that for taxes. He made a personal comment that for him it would cost him big money to do that. But for those that think he should not do it, then think of one of Obama's business buddies a GE management type that pays hardly any taxes in the US but has so much of his business wealth all registered overseas and his millions bring no cash back to the US.

Finally, Trumps ideas are not at all complete and he would not make the plans anyway. He would submit what he wants to see to the Congress and they would then put together the legal package for the House and Senate to agree with and pass. Trump has ideas but it is our Congress that will have to do the job.

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump’s tax plan would cost an eye-popping $12 trillion over 10 years, according a new estimate that runs directly counter to the billionaire’s pledge not to increase the deficit with the proposal.
The conservative Tax Foundation, which has been scoring candidates’ tax proposals throughout the race, found that Trump’s changes to the individual tax code would add $10.2 trillion to the deficit using traditional scoring methods, his corporate tax cuts would add $1.54 trillion and his proposal to eliminate the estate tax would add another $238 billion.
In addition, the gains from the cuts would disproportionately benefit ultra-wealthy Americans like Trump, whose personal income, business earnings and inheritors all stand to gain from a number of its provisions. According to the analysis, the wealthiest 1% of Americans would see their after-tax incomes increase by 21.6% versus just 1.4% for the poorest 10%.
