Marilyn Monroe Cornoner now says her death probably not from suicide

Yes... top actress of the 50s:
1. Grace Kelly
2. Jayne Mansfield
3. Marilyn Monroe... pretty impressive. (y)
Kate, I'm sure you found that somewhere, so I'm not disputing it - I just find it surprising. Not about Grace Kelly or Monroe, but I thought Mansfield mostly did low budget films. Those were good years for Kim Novak, and she did great quality work.

I tend to agree with HollyDolly about Marilyn Monroe. It always seemed to me that she didn't become a cultural icon or considered to be a great actress until after her death, when the early death, plus rumors of high connections started to build her legend.

I remember that my mother and her friends didn't like her, thought her whispery voice and obvious sexiness was sleazy and didn't go to any of her movies. When news came that she had died and it was believed to be suicide, I was working in an office and one of the men said she was probably upset that she was getting too old for her sort of parts. Nobody cried or seemed shocked.

Money doesn't lie and this is a list of the top 20 box office stars up until 1966.

Honestly who cares ? That's my opinion... this minor actress died before my sister was born and my sister is now 63 years old.... in fact my sister might be Marylin Monroe reincarnated lol

I have no idea why her name keep cropping up.. it's boring to me... .. she wasn't the first actress to have affairs with all sorts of public fgures or the first acress to die suspciously... but her name keep being bandied about over 6 decades after she died...
With respect, Holly, I care. Reasonable suspicion of political assassination (I think this is reasonable), should be brought to the light of day, my opinion, especially those in my own country. Remember this is related to the assassination of a president possibly carried out from within by the CIA or others.

Marilyn Monroe was a seriously mixed up woman. From what I've read she had a terrible childhood and was difficult to work with. Her acting ability was nothing special. Her whole career was based on being a sex symbol. She died at 36 and no doubt could see signs of aging and considered what effect that could have on her life. I can easily believe that she committed suicide.

James Patterson's book about Marilyn Monroe was recently published. I read it. I was amazed ... MM was nothing like I thought she was. I admired her after I read the book. I thought she was just a sex symbol, but she was much more than that. Anyway, I didn't think the book would be as interesting as it was.

This is not a "true-crime thriller", as it states on the cover. It is simply a well-written, balanced account of MM's life as an actress.

I read a long time ago that her death was not really a suicide. One theory was that she and Dorothy Kilgallen were planning to reveal some information about UFOs to the press that certain powers that be didn't want released. Their meeting was already scheduled when Marilyn was found dead in August 1962. Ms. Kilgallen was found dead in her apartment November 1965 of undetermined cause, but barbiturates and alcohol combo were suspected. Now they're saying that George Reeve's (2nd actor to play Superman) death wasn't a suicide either. I think it's a shame when false information about suicide being the cause of death gets perpetrated.

A coroner who worked on the Marilyn Monroe case among other celebrity cases nows says her death probably not from suicide

Marilyn Monroe conspiracy theories explained after coroner makes bombshell claim about death

Dr Thomas Noguchi who was a jr coroner at the time said no toxicology tests ran and samples from her body later destroyed. Said he really couldn't say anything at the time

He's a bit bloody late isn't he? He should have said this in the 1960s, he probably has trouble finding his glasses nowadays

Same coroner once said a psychological autopsy might help find out what really happened.

Chief Coroner Claims A Psychological Autopsy Could Have Solved Natalie Wood's Mysterious Death

I guess he means psychological profile. But it seems accepted that Monroe had depression/type issues. Other than drinking or drugs I don't recall hearing much about Wood before or after she passed. Was Wood seeing a shrink at or near her death?
I think all Hollywood people see a shrink at one time or another.

I forgot to mention that Walken and Wagner were friends. It’s likely that when Wagner found out that Walken had an affair with his wife, he took it as a betrayal, which affairs are, but when it’s your friend that cheated with your wife, someone may die and usually it’s the wife, even though the friend (Walken) also betrayed the husband, which was Wagner in this case. I think Natalie’s sister, Lana, made a statement in public that she believed that Wagner played a role in Natalie’s death.

As for Marilyn Monroe’s death, it can be difficult for a coroner to actually find the manner of death when pills are used. Pills can be taken accidentally or voluntarily. I think this is why the coroner ruled undetermined for the manner of death. When suicides are committed using a weapon like a gun or knife, it’s sometimes easier, but still can be troublesome to come to the conclusion of the manner of death.
