Vaughn! Thank you. I take hydrocodone, formally known as Vicodin, I believe. If I take prescribed dosage, I do it my way. Although this helps with the pain, it puts me in a state of being high that I don't like at all. Therefore, must be more inventive as to how & when I use it. Really hate the mental effects.

Sorry to hear of your situation, but glad you told me!

Morning all,it certainly felt like a cool autumn morning on my usual walk at 6:45, temp was 40 when I went across the street to buy papers for Connie& myself
This morning at 10,going to weekly exercise class for 45 min.I've invited 2 Tudor Plaza friends, Liz& Jean for lunch at 12:15, look forward to seeing them & catch up with what's going on their lives
The rest of my day, read NYT, hope to take afternoon stroll, having dinner again tonight with Connie and 2 other residents at 5:30
Every one enjoy your day

@hawkdon The squirrels...have they availed themselves of the free pumpkin?

Kids! It's nippy here this morning. 56F when I got up. We haven't had a morning temp lower than 60 since late in April. It's going to be a pleasant weekend in the 70s but heating up again next week. Drat. At least our nights will continue to be in the upper 50s. And...the a/c has been turned off for at least a couple of days.

I got a late start here this morning because I was out planting flowers and moving some plants for a better view from my favorite spot on the patio. There are some allium bulbs that I want to plant, but they can wait until another day.

When I was pulling my 26 foot Sunshine camper, I had to look for a pull through site. Never could back that thing up.
We were asked once how we backed up our 39' fifth wheel.

My answer: a lot of screaming instructions, cursing and hurt feelings...Lol.
It took about 45 minutes of back-and-forthing to get it in. When I say we have about 8" of wiggle room between the camper slide's canopy roll and the house's rain gutters and eaves, I'm not whistling Dixie. (We had the eaves cut back to the bare minimum when we bought the RV.)

Our street is relatively narrow, so no chance of a straight shot in.

I hate when we have back-in sites, @Pappy. Watching us is very entertaining for those around us though. If it gets too difficult I ask someone for help and am astonished at how well many can guide DH perfectly into the spot.

It helps me to read of other people's tales of woe - makes me feel less like the sole incompetent at the task. Truckers have my undying admiration.

p.s. The front of the RV doesn't jut into the sidewalk - that's a photo optical illusion.

Now that’s close. I also traveled with my friend who was a trailer driver so he would help me if I got too frustrated. Always tried to find a pull through if available.

WoW !! OMG pat yourselves on the back... and also having to bring in on a curve... Fantastic !

Are both those building’s yours?
No. The house with the truck in front of it (right side of the photo) is mine. The house to the left belongs to my lovely neighbors. The houses aren't as close as they seem from the photo. The angle was meant to show how close we park it to our own home and distorts how close it is to our neighbors.

Our homes are roughly 20 feet apart from garage wall to garage wall, so it's about 10' from the edge of our RV to the side of their garage.

The tract was built in the late 1950s and plots are roughly 1/4 acre. I grew up on 5 acres and had no desire to take care of that much property during my adulthood. Suburbia suits me to a tee.

@StarSong, those distances are good for both of you. Living in popular urban areas doesn’t leave much space sometimes. We’re cheek to jowel and accept it.
you think you live cheek by jowl lol... try parking your RV here... where these people live in Northern England

Most of the people who live in this type of housing , all over the UK but predominately in the North.. don't even have a space to park a car... except on the very narrow streets..
