Prince Andrew to give up all honours and titles

Yep, well, thankfully, the girls won't lose their titles.
What annoys me, though, is that the Duke and Duchess of delusion and deception who have done so much damage to the monarchy, get to keep their titles.
That really pi$$ess me off.
Tish: I feel they might be the next to go. I was reading an article with photos of Meghan Markle and Prince Andrew in swimming attire on a boat. She was known as a "Boat Girl", this was long before she hunted down Harry.

well Tish don't be too thankful 'the girls'.. are keeping theirs... thee's things starting to trickle out.. which I've always suspected.. that those young women..are not as white as they're snow painted...

As for Andrew.. his titles have been removed....as have those of Sarah Duchess of York , now he has no title, she is not permitted to call herself the Duchess of York any more ...

he will of course remain a Prince by birth but all other titles.. have been taken from him.... took too long IMO..

There's no point engaging with the true-blue royalists who actually believe that the congenital characteristics of the Windsor family make them fit to be our heads of state; they’re too silly to waste words on. Far more influential are the politically savvy but lazy who, while acknowledging the royals are about as dysfunctional a mob as ever took part in a reality television show, nonetheless insist that monarchy is a necessary cynosure for the patriotic feelings of the citizenry.
The not especially covert assumption here is a ghastly, patronising, de haut en bas attitude: we all know they’re ciphers, but Mr & Mrs Little-People need decorative mugs, street parties and all that palaver. It’s an attitude that makes a mockery of our pretensions to democracy.

Well, I can understand that regarding Eugenie, I don't know enough about Beatrice.

Will Andrew lose his place in the line of succession, though?
What about his position in the Order of the Garter?

From the Guardian

”Technically, Andrew will retain the dukedom, which can only be removed by an act of parliament, but he will not use it. The title, in effect, remains extant but inactive, like the HRH (His Royal Highness) honorific.”

He’ll still have the money he inherited.
So, he stays the Duke of York?

he doesn't lose his place in the line of succesion.. he remains at 8th place....

this from the BBC... he has lost his title of Duke of York.. and his postion in the order of the garter

''Prince Andrew will remain a prince, but will cease to be the Duke of York - a title received from his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth - as well as giving up membership of the Order of the Garter, the oldest and most senior order of chivalry in Britain''

Would Randy Andy be seized by the police if he entered the US, where alledgedly he got up to nasty hanky-panky?

Thank you.

I don't mean for this to be a silly question... but I was just thinking about it, so I'll ask. What would happen if for whatever reason, William totally gave up his rights to titles and the throne, etc.? Would his children also lose their places making the current 5th in line (Harry!) actually the NEXT in line?!

Not a silly question at all Kate, (you are not secretly William's wife, are you?) Such a scenario has already happened:
Edward VIII abdicated the British throne in December 1936 to marry Wallis Simpson, an American divorcée. His relationship with Simpson, who was twice-divorced, was opposed by the government, the Church of England, and his advisors, who argued the marriage was incompatible with the role of the monarch as head of the church and the establishment. After failing to find a solution that would allow him to marry Simpson, Edward gave up the throne, and his brother, Albert, became King George VI.

..however Edward had no children.... ...and if William abdicated the throne his son george would still inherit it...

if for example.. the whole of William and his family were wiped out in an accident.. then theoretically Harry could indeed be King....

Prince Andrew’s 2019 interview with Emily Maitlis left quite an impression, and not in a good way. His demeanor and responses, to my mind, spoke volumes about his involvement in the Epstein affair.
