@Bretrick when Gus first went missing , the police stood up and said they were not considering he was taken by a wild dog …….as there wasn't any wild dogs in that area …..What a huge fat ……
misstatement ….
There is a dingo fence near Yunta …but of course ,there are roads in the areas , dingos can still enter areas not fenced like roads ( altho rare ) , I believe dingo fences are still monitored to,check to holes in or under the fences
~ or other damage
Copied this …******
The area around Yunta, South Australia, is protected from dingoes by the , THE …longest fence in the world,
which keeps wild dogs out of sheep-grazing land. This fence is managed by the and is a key piece of infrastructure for the state's sheep industry. The land south of the fence, where Yunta is located, is considered sheep country, while dingoes roam freely north of the fence.

I was born / raised ….not far from Yunta …
We visited the area quite often as kids ,due to 2 of my aunts , husbands working on the railways ,so one lived in Yunter and the other in Mingary
When the first searched for Gus …they only searched a 3 km radius around the homestead station ….i said to hubs at the time “ that’s not far enough“ they should be searching up to double that area …..then after 2 weeks some bright spark came up with …Oh a child who lives in, and is used to a vast ~ desert like conditions/ open area could have possibly traveled up to 10 km by now ..
