I've heard only good things about Linux but am afraid I'm too old and stupid to learn it, sigh.

ChromeOS version is easy peasy. Windows is harder.

There are a lot of very easy to learn versions (called distros) that are specifically designed to run like Windows. Actually easier, especially concerning hardware and peripheral drivers
