That's it, all out war now!

I'm staying steady at 191, without really making any dieting efforts other than usual. I wish I had more ambition, but my clothes are fitting well,so...shrug.gif

At one time during my career, my weight got out of hand and I weighed in at 202 pounds, which was up ftom my usual 178. When I had my yearly physical, I received a notice from the PSP that I need to correct my weight gain. Troopers must maintain weight according to the national CDC chart. At 5ft. 11in., I could carry the extra weight, but I did show a little flab. I immediately corrected the weight issue, but couldn’t get rid of the flab then or now. They suggested that my weight should be 165-175. It only took me about 2 months.

I started doing all kinds of exercises to eliminate the flab, but nothing has worked. My PCP told me my only recourse at this point is to have Abdominoplasty Surgery. I decided not to go that route.
I have some extra [flab] tissue I'd love to just have cut off, but I'll save my allowance for something more important.

That’s my only alternative, but after studying how it’s done and the after effects, I decided to live with it. The little bit of flab that I have doesn’t really stand out, but the problem I have is that I know it’s there. Maybe I’m just being a bit vane.

I've been doing the same thing. I was sick for awhile and got down to 167 pretty skinny for my height. At the center they told me to put on all the weight I can for now. As soon as food started to taste good again I ate like crazy. Got up to 214 and was OK with it for awhile. Then got tired of the extra me and am down to 201. I have to really fight it, wife want to cook all the time and I want to eat it. Each day I try. I want to be 190 or so.

Losing weight at 83 years of age is not as easy as it was in my younger years. However, I have lost about 15 pounds in the last several weeks and am hoping to lose a lot more. For breakfast this morning I had Greek yogurt with blueberries, two sliced kiwis, and about 30 grams of ground-up pumpkin seeds. I’ll have veggies and fish for a very early dinner, and a very small snack of fruit and yogurt before bed. I weigh myself in the morning before eating or drinking anything.

Best of luck to you Nathan.
I have the opposite problem, I am worried that each week, I am dropping weight. I don't eat very much, I'm just not hungry. Might have to go to health food store for some supplements to help me gain weight. I'm not there yet.
Talk to your doc first. They are best at guiding you.

I had two things happen, one was at the cardiologist. I kept having issues with my BP dropping too low. He said don't cut back too much on salt. Not an issue. I use very little salt. The lightbulb went off a couple weeks later. SALT! I'm not using enough salt. So I have added more to my diet and haven't had any more issues.

I eat little animal protein any more. Who knows what I was exploring but in that exploration I found that there is very little vitamin B12 in veggies. And that I might not be getting enough protein. I knew there was one factor on my blood work that showed a small change in my kidneys. I knew to talk to him before adding milk whey to my diet to add the protein and enzymes that is not found in veggies alone.

Weighed in at 151 at the doctor's a week ago. Might be at 150 now. Just make my own food and continue to be strict with choices, and am never hangry.

Some time ago I read that 80% of weight loss is diet and 20% exercise. Recently I've been busy so it's been 100% diet 🍞 🥑
