Learning How To Live Life

For me it would be a matter of being able to breathe. Sorry it took so long to respond. I'm still at work.

My husbands doctor went back & forth with his insurance. He wrote it up that it was a medical necessity since he had so many sinus infections with several of them needing multiple doses of antibiotics. Once he did that they finally approved the surgery. Usually it's justification on behalf of the doctor doing the surgery to show medical need.

So I'm having my oatmeal and my coffee. I have 3 more days of oatmeal and then I'm done with this medicine thank God. I got some breathe right strips but forgot to put one on now. Walmart has a cheaper brand of them in boxes of 30 now. A small part of one of the pills flew out of the bowl while I was crushing it and went down the heating vent. Why they put one right by the kitchen sink is beyond me.

If I'm cutting up lettuce that's the first place it goes when it bounces off the counter. I hate that damn vent! I don't know how many pills are down there partying now. 🤬

I slept pretty good last night. I went to bed a little bit early cuz I was just so tired. I got a sink full of dishes to wash tonight when I get home.

We had 3 people out on ETO at once yesterday plus one called in sick. One of the guys at work is acting creepy. He's weird anyway but lately he's been acting weirder than normal. He was talking to someone who was getting on the elevator as I was coming off of it last night. Then he stood there quietly watching me for a few until I looked back and then he pressed the elevator button.

This is the second time he's done something creepy like that. He bothers me and I won't hesitate to let him know I will belt him if need be. I may be old but I'm not gonna put up with anyone laying hands on me.

One gal we hired spends more time off work than she does working it seems like. Every time we turn around she's got a note from the dr to stay home cuz of her arthritis and she's gone for 2-4 wks at a time. We work with a skeleton crew all the time because we don't even have enough people for it to be considered the bare minimum. We had to contract out for help. We got one girl but I think she called in too last night. She's a part time high schooler.

We just can't hardly get any applications and the ones we get either quit or get fired. The one floor guy they hired for 2nd shift has no car so they had to change his schedule so he could catch the bus. Otherwise he was just leaving work. He's an alcoholic that's been trying to quit but he's about to go back to the bottle so I doubt he will last long. He spent his entire paycheck last time on scratch tickets. He's homeless and living at the shelter. SMH

One of the girls on vacation went to NY to see her sister. I hope she has a good time. I know I did when I was there.

@MarciKS, I can relate to co-pays & completely understand.

I don't use sprays very much because they don't work well on me. I found one at Meijer grocery that is herbal that was only to be used for no more than 5 days that worked & I could breath. I went to the health food store & found the same company made an "everyday" one that worked good to. I use those two sparingly.

Years ago my husband had a nose bleed that wouldn't stop. His doctor told him that his little girl had constant nose bleeds & the pediatrician told them to put Vaseline on a q-tip & put a "glob" up in her nose at night. This melts in the sinus cavity & soothes the dry tissue. It worked.

I don't have nosebleeds, but my sinus's get raw & swollen from late fall/winter weather & the sprays don't help. I decided to try this & found it gave me relief. I think the irratation from raw tissue caused by temperatures, people smoking, perfumes, etc. causes the swelling that makes you feel like you can't breath.

Since I'm trying to use more natural products, I'm thinking of using coconut oil the same way since it's good for dry skin. I have some in the kitchen & will soften it just enough to get a glob to hold on to a q-tip & use it the same way. Today, my sinuses are starting to feel raw again so after I get done outside in the barn, I'm going to use some. I found that I can do it during the day if I'm really in need of it & just snort it in, but I prefer to use it at night which allows it to melt slowly.

If it doesn't work and insurance doesn't cover it I'll have thousands to pay back for nothing. Not sure i wanna do that. I don't have thousands to waste. Thanks for the info though.
I had the surgery several years ago. I had constant sinus infections before. The surgery did nothing at all for me. I'd caution tou to fina a really well known ENT team and ask tons of questions before you do it.

If you're wondering how I'm starting my day...you guessed it, creepy oatmeal and coffee. Only 2 more days of it after this. Praise Jesus! 🙌

A guy that works in Radiology was spraying something in the hall of the unit last night. Looked like a bottle of body spray. I asked him what it was and he said floor stripper. He was spraying it like air freshener. I almost had a COPD exacerbation because of it because it was really strong. If it really is floor stripper that stuff is dangerous. It's not meant to be used like that.

So I reported it to my boss for when she comes in on Monday. If I see him trying to spray it again tonight I'm gonna try to ask him nicely not to because of what it did to me last night. He's one of these types that thinks he can just do whatever he wants whether it violates policy or not. But he's putting patients at risk as well as staff. If nothing gets done about it I will go to risk management myself if I have to. He should know better.

Watched Landman last night after work while I was clearing the cache out on all my apps on my phone. Hadn't cleared them in a while. I was able to uninstall an app I hadn't used in 30 days and made some more room on my phone so I put Pluto TV on there.

Might play video games after work tonight. Depends on how tired I am. Last night I found mold inside the lid of my travel bottle and that bothers me so I am getting rid of those and the coffee travel mugs. I'm not digging that rubber thing out and having to worry about it all the time. I can always cover the cups with foil if I hafta rather than risk getting sick from those travel things.

I got a few rooms nice and clean yesterday. We'll see what today is like.

Since the cpap machine is bothering my sinuses so much that I can't use it, I'm thinking of cleaning it up and packing it away in the closet. I really need the cpap therapy but all it's doing is aggravating my sinuses and making matters worse. So I have to choose whether to be able to somewhat breathe through my nose or stop breathing in my sleep. Not a great choice.

I always take my antibiotics with food & I find that keeps them from bothering my stomach.
i have been because i have to. the problem is that it has amoxicillin in it. it's the version of penicillin that's the problem. penicillin makes me very sick. i have a very small list of antibiotics that i can take so it's kind of a pain.

I have noticed as I'm getting older I am becoming more invisible to those around me. Let me explain. At work I am all over the unit with my cleaning cart. But people often don't actually see me. I am becoming easier to walk past and ignore. It's like I've become background noise.

I can stand somewhere and listen to conversations and nobody notices. I can be in a room cleaning right across from the nurses station...cart in hall with me in room with glass doors and they don't see me there. They call the charge to ask for me to do something and I'm right there. LOL

I go unnoticed a lot these days. I don't know if it's age or if it's because I'm more quiet now than I used to be. I can get through almost a whole shift without having to talk to anyone or having anyone talk to me. It's like I'm wallpaper going down the hall pushing my cart.

It's like I've become non-existant and it's a little weird. People can look my direction and not even see me. I haven't decided yet if I like it or if it annoys me.

It seems that many meds are a take off of another one, so if you have problem with one you may or may not have problems with another :(.

Our one friend has the same problem with several other types of meds. They have a hard time finding a pain med for her after surgery that doesn't make her completely loopy. She has started to learn how to deal with the pain with meds. She also has a lot of flower & food allergies that she has to deal with like not being able to eat onions, garlic & several other spices. I finally figured out the only dessert she can eat is Key Lime Pie ... so instead of flowers I make her a pie.

and now a days if isn't an actual allergic reaction they don't consider adverse effects to be a problem. but to me adverse effects is the same as an allergy because they're usually rather severe for me. doc gets mad at me because i won't just take whatever the hell he wants to give me. i'm no idiot.

Your body is telling you it doesn't like something.

When I was about 20 yo & I found out that I was allergic to sulfa & had to go to ER after turning beet red at work. That doc told me just because my reaction was mild this time doesn't mean the next time it could be worse or even kill me. That stuck with me.

Has anyone else noticed that the original tiny house looked like this?

And now tiny houses look like this?

If it's a three story house it no longer qualifies as a tiny house.

exactly!!

Well, after seeing what I saw this afternoon, I don't think I'm gonna be too concerned ever again about tipping a Walmart delivery person. The lady that delivered my groceries backed out of the ally next to my apt and proceeded to hit the neighbors pickup from across the street.

The neighbor girl heard the crunch noise and her ring doorbell caught the last twenty seconds of the gal pulling over half assed and getting out, looking at her car, looking at the neighbors truck and then she got back in her car and drove off. Since they were all but moved out and getting ready to leave, she emailed me the video. I left a note at the neighbors.

Hopefully they will come by so I can give them the information on the driver and show them the video and give it to them if need be. She punched a pretty good spot on his truck. He's gonna be p****d. What a crappy thing for her to do.
