Learning How To Live Life

For me it would be a matter of being able to breathe. Sorry it took so long to respond. I'm still at work.

My husbands doctor went back & forth with his insurance. He wrote it up that it was a medical necessity since he had so many sinus infections with several of them needing multiple doses of antibiotics. Once he did that they finally approved the surgery. Usually it's justification on behalf of the doctor doing the surgery to show medical need.

So I'm having my oatmeal and my coffee. I have 3 more days of oatmeal and then I'm done with this medicine thank God. I got some breathe right strips but forgot to put one on now. Walmart has a cheaper brand of them in boxes of 30 now. A small part of one of the pills flew out of the bowl while I was crushing it and went down the heating vent. Why they put one right by the kitchen sink is beyond me.

If I'm cutting up lettuce that's the first place it goes when it bounces off the counter. I hate that damn vent! I don't know how many pills are down there partying now. 🤬

I slept pretty good last night. I went to bed a little bit early cuz I was just so tired. I got a sink full of dishes to wash tonight when I get home.

We had 3 people out on ETO at once yesterday plus one called in sick. One of the guys at work is acting creepy. He's weird anyway but lately he's been acting weirder than normal. He was talking to someone who was getting on the elevator as I was coming off of it last night. Then he stood there quietly watching me for a few until I looked back and then he pressed the elevator button.

This is the second time he's done something creepy like that. He bothers me and I won't hesitate to let him know I will belt him if need be. I may be old but I'm not gonna put up with anyone laying hands on me.

One gal we hired spends more time off work than she does working it seems like. Every time we turn around she's got a note from the dr to stay home cuz of her arthritis and she's gone for 2-4 wks at a time. We work with a skeleton crew all the time because we don't even have enough people for it to be considered the bare minimum. We had to contract out for help. We got one girl but I think she called in too last night. She's a part time high schooler.

We just can't hardly get any applications and the ones we get either quit or get fired. The one floor guy they hired for 2nd shift has no car so they had to change his schedule so he could catch the bus. Otherwise he was just leaving work. He's an alcoholic that's been trying to quit but he's about to go back to the bottle so I doubt he will last long. He spent his entire paycheck last time on scratch tickets. He's homeless and living at the shelter. SMH

One of the girls on vacation went to NY to see her sister. I hope she has a good time. I know I did when I was there.

@MarciKS, I can relate to co-pays & completely understand.

I don't use sprays very much because they don't work well on me. I found one at Meijer grocery that is herbal that was only to be used for no more than 5 days that worked & I could breath. I went to the health food store & found the same company made an "everyday" one that worked good to. I use those two sparingly.

Years ago my husband had a nose bleed that wouldn't stop. His doctor told him that his little girl had constant nose bleeds & the pediatrician told them to put Vaseline on a q-tip & put a "glob" up in her nose at night. This melts in the sinus cavity & soothes the dry tissue. It worked.

I don't have nosebleeds, but my sinus's get raw & swollen from late fall/winter weather & the sprays don't help. I decided to try this & found it gave me relief. I think the irratation from raw tissue caused by temperatures, people smoking, perfumes, etc. causes the swelling that makes you feel like you can't breath.

Since I'm trying to use more natural products, I'm thinking of using coconut oil the same way since it's good for dry skin. I have some in the kitchen & will soften it just enough to get a glob to hold on to a q-tip & use it the same way. Today, my sinuses are starting to feel raw again so after I get done outside in the barn, I'm going to use some. I found that I can do it during the day if I'm really in need of it & just snort it in, but I prefer to use it at night which allows it to melt slowly.

If it doesn't work and insurance doesn't cover it I'll have thousands to pay back for nothing. Not sure i wanna do that. I don't have thousands to waste. Thanks for the info though.
I had the surgery several years ago. I had constant sinus infections before. The surgery did nothing at all for me. I'd caution tou to fina a really well known ENT team and ask tons of questions before you do it.
